Drugs are killing so many people in Ohio that cold-storage trailers are being used as morgues
Washington Post ^ | March 16, 2017

By about 3 p.m. Friday, a county morgue in east Ohio was already full — and more bodies were expected.

Rick Walters, an investigator for the Stark County coroner's office, had just left for two death scenes: a suicide and an overdose.

From the road, he called the director of the Ohio Emergency Management Agency to ask for help. He needed more space, he explained — specifically, a cold-storage trailer to act as an overflow morgue.

As with much of the United States, Ohio is in the throes of a heroin and opioid epidemic that shows no signs of abating.

I've questioned the entire "heroin" scare for at least a year.

I don't believe we live in such a depressed, suicidal society that people will turn SO en masse, to a drug that has nothing to offer the user except death.

Drugs cost money and people that have no money, have no drugs, and when they DO start to make money, they kind'a LIKE it, so they stick around to keep makin' it.

My perspective: As a three time user of pain meds, and a three time survivor because of competent medical attention. I can say that the need for pain meds goes away when the pain goes away. Take care of your body, folks; if somethings wrong, fix it! Spend the time and money to fix what is wrong! Insist that your health care professional give you a plan to end the source of pain. There are two sources of problems: addiction and incurable conditions. No one has all the answers on all the incurable conditions yet, save pain management professionals. But addicts, people who enjoy getting high on their “pain meds,” have no excuse. My very informed opinion.

Heroin was initially marketed in the United States as a pain killer for children.

___________________________

*Sigh* “Heroin in and of itself is not that bad”

Seriously? Do you consider addicting children to heroin not that bad? Benevolent thought...Bayer did not know what they were doing (likely). Malevolent thought...Bayer did and did not care...Just because it was available (like morphine, opium and other opiates), that does not mean that “Heroin in and of itself is not that bad.”

http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2012/02/the-pharmaceutical-company-bayer-coined-the-name-heroin-and-marketed-the-drug-as-a-non-addictive-cough-medicine/

From article:
Obviously, it quickly became apparent that Bayer’s claims of the drug not being addictive were completely false, with reports popping up within months of its widespread release. Despite this, it continued to sell well in the medical field. Finally, in 1913, after the number of Heroin addicts began to skyrocket and it became likely that it would shortly be banned in many countries, Bayer decided to stop producing the drug.

BTW, they also poured opium down babies’ throats...

https://io9.gizmodo.com/5896669/when-opium-was-for-newborns-and-bayer-sold-heroin

Heroin, outside the body, was unquestionably different than morphine. Unfortunately, when heroin crosses the blood-brain barrier, the body metabolizes it to morphine. In fact, heroin gets into the brain quicker, thanks to its particular solubility, than morphine itself. The company had just worked out a way for someone to get a high faster.

Like opium, just because heroin was introduced as a pain killer for kids, did not make it safe or “not that bad.” It was bad then, it was bad 60s and 70s.

There are many more articles...So please don’t argue that because it was marketed as kids’ cough syrup does not make “Heroin in and of itself mot that bad” It is bad!

Some of it is. But heroin has made a raging return in the last few years. And it’s cheap.

I am not too up on drugs and stuff but does Heroin come from poppy seeds. If it does, isn't Afghanistan one of the biggest producers of poppy and didn't we just go in there and normalize their way of life and destroy their fields under Bush?

OH but wait, this has all doubled and tripled in the last 6 or so years. Let me see who was running the show in the US. That is right, Chief Halfrican Muzzie himself OL ObucketOshiite.

“In the last 5 years opioid deaths have skyrocketed?” Isn’t that what they’re saying is happening in New England? It’s so bad there that it became a campaign issue this past election! https://www.justbelieverecoverypa.com/drug-overdose-new-england/ Further south, in New Jersey, overdose deaths are up 214% in 6 years: http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2016/12/overdose_deaths_skyrocket_in_nj_as_opioid_epidemic_continues_its_boom.html

It is all about"hopey changey".

These young people and blacks who voted for ObucketOshiite are finding out that hopey changey did not turn out so good and they just cannot handle the pressure associated with losing and wanted their trophy anyway.

Yup.
1: oxycontin is harder to snort, and harder to get.
2: the government is shaking down doctors the prescribe too much painkillers
3: heroin has become VERY cheap compared to a decade ago.

))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Interesting how the government is involved here.

Also in not closing the borders.

Freedom’s a bitch. I guess you’ll ell us how that war on drugs is WINNING.

We started losing the war on drugs when the US refused to shoot down known drug-smuggling aircraft. How many were piloted by Americans is unknown, but many outlasted our helicopters on fuel, landed in remote regions, cashed-in, and infected our culture.

Apparently, the addition of Fentanyl that is not diluted properly is responsible for the spike.

Fentanyl is what the Russian police resorted to when Chechen Mooselimb terrorists took over a theater in Moscow in 2002.

It worked fine. Put the terrorists and the theater-goers to sleep. Russian police then shot the sleeping terrorists.

But, unfortunately, not all the theater-goers woke up.

Doctors were mandated by federal regulations to treat pain “as a fifth vital sign” and can be reported to state medical and federal Medicare regulators for “failure to provide adequate pain relief”. That’s where the idiotic “pain scale” that you hear all the time , “on a scale of 1 to 10 what is your pain level?” comes from.

So before you start yapping about doctors giving scripts for narcs like candy, you should educate yourself. Most doctors loathe “pain patients” or “drug seekers”.

I personally always thought that the government should spike as much Heroin, cocaine and pot with toxic substances and eliminate the drug problem in a year.

First I ever heard of it but anything in those circles is something I am totally devoid of any contact. I am blessed to have an unusually high threshold to pain. Had rotator surgery and did not take any of the pain medication given. What pain I did experience was mitigated by managing the pain along with the amazing thing called cold therapy. http://www.breg.com/products/cold-therapy/

But to answer your question, http://www.noslang.com/drugs/dictionary/s/

star - Cocaine; amphetamine; methcathinone

star dust - PCP

star-spangled powder - Cocaine

stardust - Cocaine; PCP

stars - Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)

Kinda goes back to what one person commented on earlier when they described the first time with H is “absolute euphoria”. To which I ask; why look for something that does not exist but then again, are the Government Schools not engaging in the selling of social panaceas to the point they propagate euphoria in a social sense?

Somebody on here wrote - “Keith Richards quit using heroin because he could obtain pure heroin any longer”

Which explains (at least to me it does) why Keith Richards hasn’t expired yet.
