Ironic, given that a higher-fat diet results in the consumption of more grain overall, used in fattening-up the cattle to be eaten.

The Food Pyramid results in the consumption of less grain overall.

Also...google Dr Eric Westman. He’s a clinician at the Duke University Diabetes research center and he puts all his new patients on the diet. Dr. Jason Fung is a Canadian nephroligist who’s patient list is mostly obese T2 diabtetis who are in late stages of CKD because of diabetes. He puts them on the diet as well. the ‘diet’ is commonaly referred to as “Keto” or the “Ketogenic Diet”.

Nope - it’s high fat, medium protein, low carb. Your body can only handle about 400-600 calories of protein a day and you shouldn’t have more than about 200 calories from carbs. The other 1000-1600 calories must come from fat.

I would also suggest that people should try to not eat (anything with more than 30 calories is food) between supper and breakfast. That means letting your body rest from digesting and processing food for 10 to 12 hours.
Its only been the last 70 years or so that people have been provided with a constant supply of food. Its not healthy for the metabolic system to be constantly processing the crap we put in our mouths.

This isn’t a “shock” to me. Dr Atkins did much work into exposing the perils of a high carbohydrate diet, linking such a diet to many dosease via the inflammation it causes. He also exposed the big food lobby which keeps the myth of a high grain, low fat diet perpetuated.

For those of us who think independently and pay attention, we aren’t surprised that a fatty diet with low carbohydrate and little to no grains is the key to health

That’s because a lot of people eat their red meat with a bun, french fries, ketchup, dessert, and a coke, eating 200+g of carbs in a single meal (vs the 40-50g of carbs max in a day, net of fiber).

Two books that are great:

Cholesterol Clarity
Keto Clarity

Can’t remember the authors names but you should be able to just google the book title. Also Keto Adapted by Maria Emmerich

Same here. Lots of Avocado and Olive Oil, good lean proteins and just a nominal amount of healthy carbs. I don’t exercise, but plan to in the near future. But I’ve lost 50lbs just eating better, my T2 diabetes is mostly under control now and I don’t crave sweets anymore. Strangely I don’t have much a sweet tooth anymore either. Lots more energy too.

When possible, the meat one consumes hold be grass fed or pasture raised. Feeding animals grain, corn in particular, makes their meat high in Omega 6 which is pro-inflammatory when consumed by humans.

Butter makes everything better.

My wife had banned butter from our house ten years ago. I now buy the Kerry Gold butter from Ireland. It's the best tasting butter I've ever eaten. And I eat a lot of it. Have two tbsp in my coffee every morning, along with heavy cream and coconut oil. That sounds disgusting to the uninitiated but whip it up in a Bullet or blender and it's a frothy hot coffee milkshake.

I buy grass fed beef. It's more expensive but I only eat about 6 ounces at a time.
