No, I don’t think that he fills out his own form. However, with 12,000 to fill out, it would be nearly impossible for anybody to be perfectly in compliance.
If she does indeed have the actual tax returns, this could be interesting. While there are shield laws that protect members of the press from disclosing sources, I am not sure there are such laws at the federal level. In addition, it is my understanding that the simple possession of tax returns of someone without authorization is a crime and there is nothing exempting a member of the press from liability for crimes they commit. At trial, she would be a defendant, not a witness. If she is committing a crime individually or in conspiracy with someone else, she is in legal jeopardy regardless of her occupation. Then, there is the basic unanswered question of what is the press and who is a member of it.
They probably cherry picked the one year where he had some big write off, and are ignoring years where he paid tons in taxes.
I know. Pffft.
I wonder how long MSNBC has had the 2005 returns? Do they have any others? And why reveal the info tonight? BTW,tomorrow is the Ides of March.

The White House is releasing President Trump’s 2005 tax information in advance of MSNBC’s Maddow Show tonight, which is teasing a scoop on the documents.
WH numbers claim Trump made more than $150 million in income in 2005 and paid $38 million in income taxes that year, according to the AP.
It also claimed that it is “totally illegal to steal and publish tax returns,” saying:
“You know you are desperate for ratings when you are willing to violate the law to push a story about two pages of tax returns from over a decade ago.”
Remember that the last “big story” about Trump’s tax returns included information that he had already been obligated to share with the New Jersey casino regulatory agency as part of the casino licensing process ... so it was basically a public document for all intents and purposes.
