Csting his ObamaCare replacement bill as the only chance to save America from a complete health-care collapse, Speaker Paul Ryan Sunday countered his conservative critics who say the bill fails to make good on Republicans' promise to repeal ObamaCare.
"Understand the speakers plan doesnt repeal ObamaCare," a member of the House Republicans' Freedom Caucus, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), said Sunday. "Even Charles Krauthammer said that, called it ObamaCare Lite, as you said earlier. It doesnt bring down premiums and it doesnt unite Republicans. So, why not do what we all voted for just 15 months ago, clean repeal, and then get focused and build some momentum to actually replace ObamaCare with something thats going to bring down costs?"
Ryan said his bill, called the American Health Care Act, is in fact the only way to successfully repeal ObamaCare.
"Look, when you are a governing party getting consensus among your wide, big-tent party, not everybody doesnt get what they want, but we are getting much better policy here," the Speaker of the House said of his conservative critics. "Let me put it this way: Obamacare is collapsing. If we just did nothing, washed our hands of the situation, we would see a further collapse of the health insurance markets. So we feel an obligation to step in front of that collapse and replace this law with one that works, that has more freedom."

Let Obamacare collapse, and replace it with the free market. My interactions with my doctor are not a federal government issue. America cannot afford to make medical care for everyone in the country an entitlement.
It won't collapse. Money isn't real since it's not based on anything, except for creating a US gov debt. The feds will just keep churning out paper money and computer entries and US citizens have sold their souls to out-of-control banking interests. Meanwhile, there's nothing left for interest on savings, which would allow people to prepare for the future.
We're all just pawns in their game
“Hes the Al Gore of health insurance.”
Hey, don’t argue with the settled science of health care.
97% of party leaders agree: if the govt doesn’t provide it, then health care won’t happen.
Get this done and he is easily worth a couple of $M/yr on K-street.
The ‘repeal’ bill he passed a couple years back was a reconciliation bill that partially repealed some financial provisions. It was NOT a full repeal bill but Pee Wee Ryan called it such because he’s a hero in his own mind.

Doctors will still set bones, transplant hearts, and sew up cuts, at a profit, cheaper to the consumer.
The medical IT industry will still hum along, no more glitches than now, at whatever it costs now (electrons don't eat nor need a bathroom)
Nothing is going to change much (including the insurance companies) because the "system" is already in place and it works reasonably well.
A ton of dead wood may however, need to find other employment selling used cars or something.
When I was a lad in HS, (mid sixties) we were pounded with "the computer industry" because it was seen as the next innovation to grab a hold and command a (the) market and many kids did just that ... enrolled in computer courses and paid their dues to now retire in comfort.
I'm on the local school board and I don't see nor hear of any "promotional" concepts given to our kids except to "fix the testing requirements" or some such boojit like that.
Let it collapse. The only argument Democrats would have is “the Republicans failed to save us from the mess we created”.
Are there some goat pictures of Ryan and Romney?
I don’t like Ryan, I don’t like the ACA. What I haven’t heard, and to be honest I haven’t read the proposed legislation, is what about the rollback of taxes? I see that the Executive Order will end the penalties but the additional taxes on the ACA need to be rolled back.
I don’t see why the Fed needs to tax us on this act while the private health care suppliers have hiked our premiums to unaffordable levels. If this were set up correctly the first time we would choose our plan and all premiums would take care of the unnecessary government oversight.
Other than the health care industry excluding
pre-existing conditions and caps on coverage I felt there wasn’t anything wrong with the previous system and we could actually afford our health care.
Then according to Ryan you do a full repeal and replace the way you want it and if Democrats don’t get the bill passed with 60 votes, then Obamacare dies by Democrat hands.
Political side of the problem solved.
Let Democrats vote no and kill their own healthcare baby.
Thanks, Freedom Caucus, for electing Ryan as Speaker with a super-majority. If the idea was to prove you could give us an even worse Speaker than Boehner, you succeeded.
Seriously, what has the Freedom Caucus accomplished? If they can’t even take a stand against a Speaker as disastrous as Ryan, what good are they?
Fool me once.....
‘Hey Ryan...get the insurance cartel to buy you a drink.’
The drinks are on Soros, whose money Ryan sucks up like a Hoover going after a dust bunny.
Delusions of grandeur.
RYAN WARNS: IF WE DONT PASS MY BILL, THE SYSTEM IS GOING TO COLLAPSE

Someone should demand to know if Ryan will resign as Speaker if his plan fails in the House!
> the Republicans failed to save us from the mess we created
Good one! :)
You nailed it! So true!
Trump has more confidence in republicans that I do.
