Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Sunday said he agrees with President Trump that 2018 will be a "bloodbath" for Republicans if Congress does not pass legislation repealing and replacing ObamaCare.
I do believe that if we don't keep our word to the people who sent us here, yeah, Ryan told CBS Newss Face the Nation, when asked if he agreed with Trumps reported comments about the 2018 midterm elections.

Phase 1 will end Obamacare>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
But just coincidentally it also hands health care back to the Health Insurance Corporations, allowing them to continue to drive health costs just as they did in the past.
WE DO NOT WANT THAT.
LIFT THE STATE LINES AND INTRODUCE COMPETITION......NOW!
And let the rest stand until phase 2.
OPEN THAT COMPETITION DOOR NOW!
Isn’t he the same one who saw Trump losing big?
Pray America woke
I dont think we are getting the whole story. Lets give President Trump the opportunity to play HIS hand himself. I believe our President can be trusted to do the right thing.
Just look how quickly ISIS is being destroyed .. for example.
Now - Phase 1 will end Obamacare. The Senate rules for reconcilation with a Budget require what is being done to enable ending Obamacare with just 51 votes. Any other technique would allow filibusters and require 60 votes. No Democrat will vote for repeal.
Sit tight and let the system work. Investigate yourself and you will understand.
There should be a bloodbath. And Ryan’s severed political head should be put on a metaphorical pike on the steps of Capital Hill as a warning to other Rhinos.
Ryan predicts a bloodbath if they don’t pass the legislation and Tom Cotton predicts a bloodbath if they do. I think in this one I agree with Cotton.
Ryan is too stupid to understand that people want their premiums reduced significantly and quickly. This bill is total BS.
It's not the repeal that turn this legislation into a turkey, it's the replacement.
Why not just leave it at that?
The REAL bloodbath will be if RyanCare passes and is touted as fulfillment of President Trump’s promise to REPEAL and REPLACE Obamacare!
It’s anguishing for me to think of RyanCare as the fulfillment of the MANY promises President Trump made to us to replace and repeal Obamacare. RyanCare does not fulfill that promise. Not even close. In fact, it’s a GIANT step backwards. RyanCare is WAY worse than Obamacare as it currently stands. WAY worse!
I poured my heart and soul and (MUCH money) into supporting President Trump’s nomination and subsequent election based on his many promises (especially his promise to repeal and replace Obamacare) and my strong belief that President Trump was different than every other elected official in my lifetime because I actually expected him to keep his campaign promises.
My only hope is that RyanCare is some kind of ruse for unknown political purposes, such as sinking Ryan’s ship or for buying time or something. I’ll be surprised if RyanCare passes the House and stunned if it passes the Senate and done if President Trump signs it.
If President Trump does in fact try to tout Ryancare as the fulfillment of his campaign promise to repeal and replace Obamacare, then President Trump will lose the support of we who are is supporters and is finished as a President; the GOP would be finished as well. And so would our country.
I can forgive President Trump many things, including being unable to fulfill ALL of his promises, and especially those attempted fulfillments thwarted by opposition that cannot be overcome.
However, I will NOT forgive him if he accepts RyanCare as the fulfillment of his campaign promise to repeal and replace Obamacare. I’d actually rather President Trump do nothing at this point and wait until the GOP has a filibuster-proof Senate in 2018 and then do it right, rather than accept counterproductive measures like RyanCare.
Sit tight and let the system work. Investigate yourself and you will understand.
Sit tight while Amnesty Ryan lies to us? Not a chance. If this was a solid bill they would not have to be pulling Gang of 8 style lies, lies by omission and half truths. A bill built on lies will never “work”. Sorry. We’re being played again.
I wouldnt worry. Trump is smarter than any and all of them. I think he knows what hes doing, after all its HIS negotiating team.
Sorry, I don’t see Trump doing any negotiating. This is Ryan’s bill and he is the one making demands. No amendments, etc. Trump seems to be along for the ride. At some point he will have to stop deferring to the beltway GOP and use his bully pulpit as POTUS.
At the end of the day, Trump can veto. I hope you’re wrong about Trump “gong along for the ride.” Maybe he’s biding his time. I don’t know how much he was included in the make-up of this bill and if not I don’t know why not.
It’s possible that Trump doesn’t have a clear picture of the free market needing to run the healthcare show. If not, I hope he gets the picture very soon. He may be surprised at the level of resistance and corruption in Washington. I’m SURE he’s never encountered anything like this in his real estate business.
But there are reports that he’s listening to alternatives to this warmed-over Obamcare crap from Ryan.
I don’t think Trump is going to renege on his promise to Americans. After all, the only reason he left the life he loved in which he was so successful was to fix this country and I think he knows the b/s RINOCare is not a fix.
Makes me curious about what you think of Trump. Out of curiosity, did you support Trump or Cruz? I hope it was Trump. Being a Trump supporter doesn’t mean you have to go blind or blindly support everything Trump does. I don’t, but I believe the guy will stand up to these RyanRINOS.
Trump why are you listening to him. You said REPEAL socialized medicine!! Not replace it with another socialized medicine!! We don’t want to pay for other people’s insurance premiums— WE WILL NOT !! FREE MARKET FREE MARKET!! Not communism at the point of a gun!! STOP RINOCARE!!!
These are the same people who foresaw a bloodbath if Trump won the nomination.
Medication pricing is not a one sided affair.
Pharmaceutical firms pay out massive sums to develop products that can be used.
They may research 200 items before they find one that seems to work. Trials start and the item may or may not fly. Then it’s on to hundreds more.
While I defend the pharmaceutical companies on the one hand, it’s also hard for me to understand why they charge far less for the same medications outside our nation. Don’t the sales figures in those other nations also contribute to R&D?
What some folks don’t think about, is that some of the newer tablets are priced to compare to the surgical procedure or other factors that no longer have to be utilized. An expensive surgery that used to cost $10k, is now replaced by a tablet that costs $8.00 each.
Sound terrible until you realize it saves a lot of money, even thought it seems to cost a lot for the tablet.
As for bringing drugs to market faster, that really is a two edged sword.
I can think of three different medications that came to market after having passed testing.
One was years ago and caused birth defects in children. Two of the other had serious side effects that didn’t surface until after the product had been on the market for a while. It had also been on the market in Europe for some time. Even after it came to the U.S. later, at first they didn’t know of the problem. Then it had to be withdrawn from the market.
Another medication caused heart problems, even after testing.
Lessen the time for testing and you’ll have more of these. That’s the trade off.
Where I think there is the most clear cut case to test medications on humans, is when the prognosis is a terminal outcome in short order.
If a possible helpful medication for cancer is being considered, and there are people in danger of dying in less than a year without it, then it would seem to be a good idea to let them choose to try it if they want.
I appreciate your suggestions. I do wish we could bring things to market faster, but it isn’t a real easy thing to do IMO.
In each of these instances, there are competing interests that go beyond simple price or availability.
Repeal Ryan- I love that!
When Ryan first appeared on the political scene, I thought, “hey, this guy’s a solid conservative and the real deal!”
After about a month or so entrenced in Washington, I then realized this guy is like most the rest of them, a POS!
Eff U Ryan!
