Patrick Stewart has said he is applying for US citizenship in order to "fight" Donald Trump.
On The View, he said that because of the recent election he has decided to apply for citizenship in order to join the resistance against the President.
“I’m not a [U.S.] citizen,”the actor said.
“However, there is, maybe it’s the only good thing, as the result of this election: I am now applying for citizenship. Because I want to be an American too.”
“All of my friends in Washington said, ‘There is one thing you can do. Fight, fight, oppose, oppose,’” Mr Stewart said.
He made the comments after being asked about a tweet in which he wrote: "Had the worst sleep of my life last night. But I was sleeping less than 300 yds from where Donald Trump sleeps. Could there be a connection?"

That’s on you. I enjoy movies just fine, between temporary suspension of disbelief and not paying attention to actor yabbling without a script it’s very easy. Hate is pointless, all it’s doing is negatively impacting your life.
I don’t want my money going to support these clowns in any way shape or form, if I can help it. Going to the movies has become an effort, as it is, being so expensive nowadays, you have to discriminate between those that help you and those that hurt you................

I’ve learned it’s a big complicated world and things are made by big complicated companies. And yes a couple of pennies from my $10 to see Logan tomorrow will go to liberal douchebags, and meanwhile some of those pennies will be going to conservatives, and some will be going to people who just don’t care and just trying to make life work, and trying to starve one group out doesn’t work. So I just go on with my life, watch the movies I want to watch. And these days I go to the cool dinner theater in town and give a waiter way more money (I generally tip around $5) than I’m giving Jackman and Stewart.
Really, life is complicated enough without trying to die on every hill available.
Come over illegally.there are entire political organizations dedicated to illegal aliens. Also, the democrats don’t care about Americans. They place illegal aliens and Muslims way higher than any American.

I am no longer entertained by many in Hollyweird because they can’t keep their damn mouths shut. I enjoy stories of lowered viewership and cancelled social justice shows. I’m glad the NFL is dropping in ratings. I am not comfortable giving those who so vociferously hate me and my country money. Each to their own conscious, I say.
I and my husband are doing other pursuits than tv and movies and we are happier for it. Having productive hobbies are far more satisfying to us.
The human brain can compartmentalize for a reason, it’s a complex world we live in, and you’re NOT going to agree with everybody.
Meanwhile the NFL ratings dropped ended with the election, it really was just the news cycle.
And it’s not an either or world. I have hobbies AND watch movies and TV.

Word of advice to all in the business world, shut-up. No matter what side of the political spectrum you come from if you talk about politics you will be pissing off 50% of your customer base. Why do that?
Can this dude Patrick Stewart tell us which country is doing well under socialism? It is the main reason I emigrated from a country where government was REALLY BIG, running Banks, railroads, airlines, insurance, post-office, manufacturing of (steel, cement, phones, aircraft, machine tools, armament, railroad engines and cars etc). Sadly we are slowly but surely inching towards socialism, while my birth country is turning towards capitalism after decades of misery under big government socialsm. Like boiling a frog slowly, lots of Americans are blase and nonchalant about this steady march towards socialism. Hope is president Trump will be successful in changing the course.
Have not visited a movie theater in decades except to see Dinesh D’Souza “Hillary’s America”. I prefer spending the money in restaurants and always leave a 20% tip for the server, who opts to work instead of collecting a gov’t check. Here in North Florida, the wait staff seems to be very eager to please.
He wants to avoid the ruinous income tax rate in England, but he doesn’t have the huevos to admit it.
