"Clearly the winner of the affirmative melanin participation award"
It is what many people including myself were thinking.

Blacks were given 2 of the 4 top acting awards, and the best picture.
That is a wrap, for the Obama era. Bye.
My wife expressed weariness, over movie things black.

A very disgusting film about coprophiliacs portrayed as the new normal for the rimmers and felchers of Homowood. Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge was the best picture of the last 5 years hands down.

Most homosexuals were sexually abused as children.
They seek to normalize their behavior to attain better access to YOUR children.

“THIS crowd is always GOOD about picking LOOSERS.”
Because they feel comfortable with their own kind. We all do.

I post this because every local media outlet in Miami (this was a Miami based movie) is going ga ga over it. <<
Odd choice for a setting about "the black experience". Did a quick google search and Miami is about 19% black.

ARE YOU KIDDING!?!??!?!?!!
It was a joke!!! :)
I’d take a bullet to the head before being forced to sit through such garbage.
I practically live on the site, so I figured most knew me.
My apologies.
I’m here so much that Jim gets my mail :)

In their White Guilt, Hollywood producers are forgetting three important rules.
1, The only purpose of a movie is to make money for the person who made movie.
2, Black angst movies do not make money.
3, Liberal ‘”we’re better than the common folks” beliefs do not repeal Rule #1 or Rule #2!

Affirmative Action Award. Yeah, a movie about a gay black kid in the hood. That’ll be a crowd pleaser!

The Hurt Locker wasn't a big grosser either and I thought it was very good, especially because it beat out Pocahontas in Space.... uh, Avatar. But a film featuring explicit gay sex and the stereotypical drug dealer with a heart of gold..... no thanks.

The movie, about a young, gay black man growing up in an impoverished Miami neighborhood
Not enough. Should have been a young, gay, black, Hispanic, transvestite, Muslim woman growing up in an impoverished Miami neighborhood.

I was standing I have line to see a movie while “Brokeback Mountain” was showing in another auditorium. The theater manager came out to set up a “Sold Out” sign for BM (not a bad acronym, actually.) When my movie ended, I stuck my head in to see what a ‘full house’) looked like. Would you believe it only takes six viewers?
The theater had to have been paid for all those vacant seats. I wonder who picked up the tab...
