Just when you thought the 'Russians-did-it' meme was fading, WaPo reporters manage to find DoJ officials who say then-Senator Jeff Sessions spoke twice last year with Russia’s ambassador to the United States - encounters he did not disclose when asked about possible contacts with Moscow during his confirmation hearing to become attorney general.
At his Jan. 10 Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing, Sessions was asked by Sen. Al Franken, a Minnesota Democrat, what he would do if he learned of any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of the 2016 campaign.
“I’m not aware of any of those activities,” he responded.
He added: “I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians.”
And now, as The Hill reports that according to The Washington Post report, President Trump's attorney general, Jeff Sessions, spoke twice with Russia's ambassador to the United States while Trump was on the campaign trail.
Justice Department officials said one of the meetings was a private conversation between Sessions and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in Sessions's office. The private meeting reportedly took place during the same time intelligence officials have said Russia was interfering with the U.S. presidential election through a hacking campaign.
Officials said Sessions did not consider the conversations relevant to the lawmakers’ questions and did not remember in detail what he discussed with Kislyak.
“There was absolutely nothing misleading about his answer,” said Sarah Isgur Flores, Sessions’s spokeswoman.

bret baier won’t let the russia lie against Trump, alone. He keeps bringing it up and has conversations with others, who “have no evidence” that anything went on between Russia and Trump... but baier just keeps it alive with whomever he can.
I’m sick and tired of baier, fox employees who don’t like Trump, and the russia thing that has NO legs... and NO proof from anyone anywhere. A decent reporter would obviously let it drop... but baier won’t... he does not like Trump and I wish baier would go on a lengthy vacation. He ‘s grown a new frown and disapproval all over his face... and I’m tired of those looks!

One last item on all this... the fact obama was not held responsible by the media, by the dems, and not by the republicans... the fact he was given a pass... and I could care less what color he is... it does not give him the right to do all he did... The fact they went easy on him.. adored him... means they cannot do this to Trump!
I am seeing the awful things the left are saying about Trump from last night.. there was none of that when obama was in for 8 years... if we had, they’d have taken us off the air..and in this case, some doing this are media.
All this... the fact obama was given a pass, makes it. impossible for them to attack Trump like they have been!! It just makes me more angry at them and they must be losing more and more voters/watchers.
And the one who will take care of all this? I think God just might be stepping in.. if He hears our prayers... There is a prophecy (there are many, but this one seems to hold water) that Trump would be elected... written in 2012, and that the left would go after him, but the Lord would prevent any of their efforts to have any power over Trump. That the Lord put Trump in as President, because He heard our prayers and is giving us a little more time.
If that is true, then the left can go pound sand. It seems they prefer a lying piece of humanity, who is two faced and stands before the camera as a complete fake..
And on the otherhand, Trump stands in front of the camera, a man with no put-on and no fakery... he speaks his mind and keeps his promises.
Please explain to me why “they” prefer the former type individual, to the latter type? A liar and pretender, to the honest “you get what you see” man.

Our neighbors are Russian and they visit Russia often. They bring us big super red Russian tomatoes in season. Sometimes chocolate. They love Trump and I am starting to see the connection.
The timing is suspicious. They’ve had this news and were waiting to use it to crowd out Trump’s speech. I really hope that Trump holds fast on this one and doesn’t ask Sessions to resign. please please please

He did not lie and this is not news, every Senator knew he had met with many ambassadors(25) including the Russian’s as a part of the Armed Service Committee. And the questions and his answers during confirmation hearings were understood to mean meetings outside these. The Propagandist MSM and all Leftist and their minions are simply going to use a fake story (Evil Russians and Republicans Traitors) to attack anybody in the Trump admin to stop Trump from making America Great Again. Don’t panic. Get used to it.
CNN smells real blood here and by tomorrow the drumbeat will the main topic on all cable and network news channels.

If Russians “hacked” the election by giving John Podestas emails to Wiki-Leaks, then does it not follow that there was something bad enough in them that even with the entire media utterly ignoring them and thus shielding a large majority of the population from knowledge of their existence much less content, that even after a coordinated campaign between all the media to hide them at all costs, that they were still so toxic, that even though the vast vast majority of people who ever saw them were most likely Trump voters anyway, but enough non trump voters were accidentally exposed to the verbatim words of democrats to shift a landslide 99% sure Clinton victory to Trump. Do I have this about right?

You know the Washington Post reporter got this story from a leak in the DOJ, probably holdovers from Lynch and Obama, who are out to destroy Trump. He didn't get it from hard knocks investigative reporting. They report it as fact, the Hill picks it up and reports it as fact and then Zero-hedge and others pick up the false story and everybody is saying it's fact. That's how it works with the fake news machine.
Sounds like third-party removed, unsourced fake news to me.
Sessions was a sitting senator at the time and served on the Senate Intel Committee. It was a perfectly reasonable expectation and within the norm of his duties on the committee. He did not have this alleged convo as a rep of the Trump admin.
No Teapot Dome scandal to be found, althou I fully expect lyin’ libs to believe their own delusion.

You have pointed out the one fact no one, even the Trump people have spoken of. If a tree falls in a forest... Unless you read sites like FR, Ace, Instapundit you were never exposed to the email content and only slightly exposed to the fact of the emails at all. Still why didnt Sessions just say he met the ambassador a couple of times and they spoke of the general international situation.
