The president was heading to his new flagship property in D.C., the Trump Hotel, for a private dinner at the BLT Steakhouse inside. Once the president arrived at the location, the reporter who was on assignment to cover him, Jordan Fabian of The Hill, was not let into the building and had to wait in the van outside for the remainder of the dinner, without a guest list or details of what was happening inside.
Inside the restaurant, I was seated at a table that had booked hours earlier, directly next to where Trump would be dining. I made the booking based on a tip from a trusted source. I was ready to tell the story no one else would get to see and was personally fascinated to observe how a restaurant prepares for a president and how Trump interacts when he believes no press are present...
6:45 PM: Our bacon tower appetizer arrives. Highly recommended.

Yeah, that is scary. Nobody should be giving out this sort of info.
Prayers for President Trump’s safety.
I’m not really comfortable about that either.
*bump*
All indications are that Trump is just a really good guy. Americans have an interesting pattern of choosing presidents who are great men but also genuinely down to earth.
I guess it’s one of those ‘style’ things, where everyone is trying to be more clever than the next guy. But it sounds like it tastes good: the menu calls it ‘Clothesline Candied Bacon (maple and black pepper pickles)’:

I love the architecture with the exposed trusses. The flag is unusually beautiful hung among them.
If it's well-done, then that may be the only way to save it.
And what if Benny Johnson, the author, had been a John Hinkley wannabe? This should demonstrate to the Secret Service that the President’s praetorian guard is not all its cracked up to be.
What a good, good story! Our president is a regular kind of guy.
Who tipped off this guy?

There is going to be a maitre d' job opening this week.
Trump, bacon, and $100 bills. It doesn’t get any better than this.
I know! Right? I cringed! But I will forgive him this horrible waste of a perfectly good steak! Course well done? ICK! Medium rare thank you very much!
I order my steaks medium rare but if Trump likes his well done - I forgive him. I’m thinking he had a bad childhood experience with underdone steak.
I’ll have the duck steak and broccoli rabe, please.
The prices are lower than I would have expected. Told hubby we’d have to go for Brunch or Lunch some day.
My thoughts, exactly. Looks like a security check is in order.. again.

*Shudder!*
Who the heck is close to the president enough to KNOW that he may have dinner OUT, AND who chums with the media enough to tip one off?
It was either orchestrated, or someone in the INNER circle is willing to risk the security of our president.
Which is it?
Spicer is now tracking White House staff phones, we read. Odd enough that Joe Scarborough for weeks was constantly in the know about the inner circle, coming from some aide to the president. It better stop. Intelligence has proved to be no help to him, whatsoever.
I love Ketchup on steak. Why do people get offended by that but have no problem with steak sauce?
Anyway, fun to learn I have something in common with The President
