My memories of the film are rather dim, but I believe you are absolutely correct.
My memories of the piece are more benign - stemming from my memories of teen club dances in the early sixty's - memories that I hold dear a half-century later.

The next time it pops up on TCM, watch it carefully. There are deliberate memes being planted.

Sloppy, slushy roads are not something I care to deal with.
Storm still coming but I believe it’s not as powerful as they thought. At least I hope not. Not much anyone can do but wait and see.
Not a winter person but this is the first time I remember being so tired of it so early in the season! *sigh*

Sorry I disappeared. I saw lightning flashing through a window and grabbed the camera. Been outside getting short video clips and got some cool lightning shots. Now the rain is coming down in torrents. Your cold front has arrived. LOL
Maybe it’ll stay cool a little while longer down there. We have at least two chilly days coming so another cool day there should be in the making.
Nice day here, playing in the flower beds and having windows open. The pollen’s doing a number on the ol’ sinuses but it’s worth it. LOL!
A couple of the kitties were sick earlier today but they ate supper and have kept it down .... so far.

I will do so, Maestro.
I have to admit that my memories of that piece are colored by the pretty young women I held in my arms while slow dancing to it.
So long ago, but as vivid in my mind as today!
I grow old . . . .I grow old . . .
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.

I have the camera hooked up to the computer now, going through the videos for screen caps. I know I got a few good ones before it was time to come in. Lots of forked bolts zipping across the sky. When they started zipping over my head, I decided it was time to come in. Good thing I did because it was a ways from the house and by the time I reached the porch, it was starting to rain.
I hope this is the last of the crud with the kiddos for a while. It has NOT been fun for any of us. blech!

Thanks for posting the link to Frankie.
A great memory for me was seeing *not-yet-a-big-star* Sinatra in person many decades ago at a matinee at the downtown Chicago Theater. It was a movie house, and they would have a live act of medium renown during the intermission between films.
I was in the second row center, could almost touch him. Teen-age girls surrounded me, they were screaming, and yes, throwing panties and hankies at him.
He was just starting out, was already making a name for himself, thanks to his teeny followers, his shirt collar was too big, he was young.....and he was actually just as thin as the microphone in front of him.
But when he sang...it was magic.
I never appreciated his vocal artistry till after he was gone...and now I like to listen to his recordings on YouTube...and they are many.... and I'm sorry I was so late in my admiration for his vocal ability....but I'm making up for it now!
He truly was "The Voice".
Too many singers today make noise, he made music!
