The infamous Access Hollywood tape in which President Donald Trump bragged about grabbing women by the hoo-ha was an inside job, leaked by an NBC News staffer on Billy Bushs own Today show, multiple sources tell Page Six.
The tape was leaked by the NBC News division, by somebody at the Today show, says one source. NBC News knew for a while about the existence of the tape. Billy himself had told them about it. People in the news division became frustrated that Access Hollywood was taking too long to air it and decided it had to come out.
Access had been working on airing a sanitized version of the tape, which revealed Trumps comments but protected Bush by editing out his. But the full tape, which was leaked to the Washington Post, featured Bush goading the president. The leak got Bush fired from Today, which was, according to the source, part of the plan.
The leaked tape served a dual purpose: It helped get Bush out of the way Matt Lauer didnt like him and felt he was a liability and NBC thought it would derail Trump, says the source. But all it did was crush Billy, and, ironically, his own network was behind it.

I wonder how much of that conversation on the bus was edited? Much of that conversation did not have video of the participants. They could have cut and spliced conversation to make it sound worse than the actual words. I suspect they did.
Trump voters simply did not care about nonsense like this.
We just wanted to throw a hand-grenade into DC!
I remember drinking Billy Bush beer years ago.
Maybe the Post could have told us something we didn’t know and could care less about, like why is the cold water always on the right?
Are you sure that wasn't Billy Carter beer?
Yeah, that was it. My dry humor doesn’t translate well across the internet. Sorry about that.
And NBC's storm troopers (reporters?) are outraged that President Trump says the press is unfair. Wow.
NBC had the tape and released it at the command of the Clinton campaign. It was intended to be thier October surprise weapon, but they fired it off early to attempt to counter the Wikileaks revelations.
“in which President Donald Trump bragged about grabbing women by the hoo-ha”
No, in which he said the women ALLOW him to grab them by the hoo-ha because they come on strong because they are gold diggers. In other words, it’s CONSENSUAL but the lib media portrays him like he is Bill Clinton who of course never gets a shred of the kind of heat Trump gets.
LOL! I remember that guy. He died at only 51 years old, that must have been one hell of a beer.
Oh, yeah. I almost forgot. 1. There were no consequences when hillary went so far as to accept debate questions ahead of time. 2. Nobody's talking about the disturbing aspects of those tapes being egged on by Bush, illegally taped, kept with the network's knowledge, and there being discussion about how to best use them to undermine the DJT campaign.
Three cheers for our fair and balanced media!!!
No doubt it was. But it was also evident Trump was talking about groupies that will let celebrity men have their way with them. The irony is they tried using this against the opponent of a broad who has a husband known for his female exploits and numerous complaints.
I thought it was disgusting. And I was a college student when it came out, so that is saying something. I think most if it was saved as a collectible. Ebay is full of unopened Billy beer cans. That said, Billy Carter was a likable character and the best one of the bunch.
In both cases, I suspect, sadly, the better part of their fathers’ genes ran down their fathers’ legs.
WHAT”S THE NAME????? Idiot writers.
Number one suspect..Matt Lauer
Jealousy. Can’t stand the drama queen. He’s well known for his stompy foot antics....throws a hissy fit if it isn’t what he wants
Wish some one would knock him down a notch or three
