For years journalists opined self-servingly under the guise of objectivity and got away it because Republicans were too afraid to shatter that illusion of objectivity. They permitted the media to serve as the arbiter of what qualifies as “mainstream,” “extremist,” “racist,” and so forth, and made sure to stay within the media-determined parameters of any discussion.
Donald Trump has blown up that absurd arrangement and is beating the media at its own game. He labels reporters in the same way that they label him. He upends their dishonest framing of debates by treating them as what they are, liberal partisans. His exchange last week with April Ryan, a correspondent for the American Urban Radio Network, captured that perfectly. She asked him a loaded question not as a neutral reporter but as a water-carrier for the Congressional Black Caucus. So he treated her that way. “I’ll tell you what, do you want to set up the meeting?” the president said to her, after she asked if he would meet with the CBC. “Do you want to set up the meeting? Are they friends of yours?” Of course, they are friends of hers and she was trying to score a partisan point for them. Had Trump not deconstructed that for the audience, her question might have done him damage. Instead, it fell flat and looked unserious.

This whole “lied about Sweden terrorist incident” issue is insane. Sweden does have terrorist incidents every day. Chelsea Clinton even got into it and tweeted against Trump- so ridiculous. Now the hellhole condition in which Europe is in, is being exposed. And Trump is the only one with balls to bring up the fact that the unchecked invasion of countries in the West, is causing this disaster. Everyday is Christmas morning with him in the WH!

Her response that she is just a reporter now provides her a new definition. If she tries a trick like this again, then Mr. Trump can out her as the political operative that she is.
She set a trap and it became a trap for her. This man studies his adversaries and knows how to turn the table.
Go into any negotiation with Mr. Trump at your own peril.
That press conference needs to be deconstructed in Journalism classes as a classic in how to set the agenda. I have noticed that Sean Spicer continues his good humor also.
Isn’t it amazing how the left beat him over the head this past weekend about Sweden, including the Swedish Prime Minister throwing his hat in the ring, only to have rioting in the streets there on Monday and Tuesday. Just in time for the world to see their perfect utopia!
Such hogwash the leftists are peddling to the ignorant masses of mush heads.
On numerous occasions, I’ve noted where he’s gotten the media in a frenzy talking about things they heretofore had ignored. One classic case was the sale of uranium to Russia by Bonnie and Clyde Clinton. Trump said “Hillary sold Russia 20% of the uranium.” Just like clockwork, the liberal media attacked arguing the percentage was wrong all the while admitting Hillary did sell uranium to Russia.
Same with the Sweden thing.
More and more, the mastery for marketing and managing PR is showing through.....if you care to look closely.
I think what was lost on most folks and the MSM refused to acknowledge nor admit was the point of the Wikileaks Podesta e-mails showing direct evidence of April Ryan's reaching out and willingness to set up meetings between the Hillary campaign, the CBC and the "black" press.
And then for her to come back and say about DJT's request that it's not her job and she's "just a journalist"? She got busted and she knows it.
Hence, Trump is a racist.

It’s scary more than insane. I’ve been following the Swedish immigration nightmare for over 10 years now. EVERY media outlet knows what’s going on. Reporters from 60 Minutes and other outlets get attacked for filming in the ‘wrong neighborhoods’. Sexual assaults against women is epidemic.
Sure we have crime...but we’ve ALWAYS had crime - we always had criminal classes in this country, but our crime was MUCH WORSE 30 years ago - we talked about it and then did something about it. It’s not great here and probably never will be, but getting rid of Illegals will certainly improve things even more.
But Sweden NEVER had crime (to speak of) - they were like Japan, a country where you could leave your purse at a train station and come back a few hours later for it. But Sweden then imported their ‘friends’ from the Middle East, and CRIME SKYROCKETED. In a healthy society, there would have been some discussion about just that (much as we openly discuss immigration), but in Sweden it is a CRIME to criticize immigration policy...it is considered racist, and careers are lost due to one statement, and people that don’t stop criticizing immigration are JAILED. And so the never-ending flow of these types of imports continues unabated, with both major parties being 100% behind it, and people like Trump, if they exist over there, are being THROWN IN JAIL.
And again - the media knows all this - maybe a few reporters don’t, but EVERY media outlet knows it. Yet they call Trump a LIAR for saying the same...they don’t say he exaggerates or that he ‘doesn’t understand the issue’ (a very common attack technique of the left), no, they call him an OUTRIGHT LIAR - and that should scare the left as much as it scares our side - because in another universe, maybe another decade here, it could be OUR SIDE doing the same to them, as many on our side are now SO FED UP that we wouldn’t care if that happened.
Mainstream Media is a Political Advocacy Arm of Leftist politics.
If a news event supports an aspect of the leftist agenda, Mainstream Media reports it.
If a news event puts a negative light on an aspect of the leftist agenda, Mainstream Media ignores the event and does not report it.
Is it any surprise that Mainstream Media is going bankrupt when they alienate more than half of their potential subscribers?
Do all you can to encourage Mainstream Media to do the Full Pelosi and become even leftist in their viewpoint so the total bankruptcy is hastened.
Yep, and now he is the President of Sweden. Never bet against Trump.

These ‘journalists’ have used the Presidential press conference as their own personal venue for grandstanding and for forcing THEIR agenda.
For the MSM, these conferences have nothing to do with actual reporting on Presidential activities, current issues, etc.
For TOO long Presidents (both Democrat and Republican) have allowed that premise to control what goes on at the press conferences. It’s time to put everything BACK into its proper perspective and I am glad that Trump sees it that way, too.
I’m pretty sick and tired of the BS, ‘gotcha’ ‘questions’ that these so called ‘journalists’ cast in the President’s face hardly even pretending to expect a proper response. It’s ‘Do you still beat your wife?’...followed by the inevitable cascade of other MSM idiots perpetuating this VERY stage-managed, Kabuki, clown show, AS IF this is REAL journalism.
They are not real journalists and this is not a real press conference. These people are the sham OF a sham and NOW, everyone knows it!!
The press can dish it out, but they can’t take it.
