French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen canceled a meeting with a key Arab leader Tuesday after he insisted she wear a headscarf.
The National Front leader who is a frontrunner for president was scheduled to meet with Lebanons grand mufti, an important cleric for Sunni Muslims, but backed out after it was made clear she was expected to cover her head, Reuters reports.
You can pass my respects to the grand mufti, but I will not cover myself up, Le Pen told the press.

She just may have secured the election.
GOOD FOR HER!!!!
You go, girl!!!!
Yep, at the snap of the fingers leftists can’t bow low enough . And you know what ticks me off? They then try to pass them off as feminists, especially Hillary. “Oh I’m for womens rights, equal rights blah blah” and there she is participating in the worlds most oppressive ideology against women. The left are just the biggest hypocrites going. Like that womens march they had where Ashley Judd had yet another mental breakdown and Madonna said she wanted to blow up the White house. Who did they have speak at that march? Sharia supremacist Linda Sarsour. This woman was even on the Rachel Maddow show declaring how ticked off she was that Sharia law wasn’t allowed in certain parts of the USA so it’s not like these leftists didn’t know about her. They’re hypocrites!!
That’s what I wondered. It’s not clear in the article, and I don’t follow Le Pen’s goings-on enough to know.
If it was to be in France, she had every right, and as someone else said, ‘Vive la France!’
If it was to be in Lebanon, I would ask: What is the general ‘dress code’ for women there? Is it the custom for all women to wear the scarf; or the custom to wear it in the presence of clerics; or was it just this one official/cleric who was demanding it of Le Pen?
I generally believe in the idea of ‘when in Rome’, and a woman traveling to a foreign country should follow the general custom.
Speaking of Rome - and without drawing any correlation between countries, religions, or personages and their status - I understand that the dress code of the Vatican still requires that a woman wear a veil when having an audience with the Pope. I’m not a Catholic, but if I were to ever have a reason to meet with the Pope privately, I would wear the veil - even with *this* Pope.
And to ball-it-up even more: sometimes there are reasons, regardless, to just make a point...
What to do, What to do...
BRAVO!
Vive la France.
“She just won the election.’
I think you may be right.
I am not sure she isn’t a bit to far out there in some things but if I were French I’d take that chance.
“I doubt any feminists in this country will applaud.”
You are quite correct...I expect them to condemn her for “Islamophobia”!!! OUR feminists do what the Muslim men TELL them to do, or ELSE!!! /s;)
You’re 100% correct. We need to declare war on Islam.
It’s them or us.
She might have planned this, very smart move.
It is vital the progtard Macron does not make the runoff.
Hmmm....Progtard. That’s the first I’ve seen this new word.
If you are the one who made it up, I say “Congratulations!” I like it. May I steal it? : )
I did make it up but I would be shocked if others haven’t done so previously as it’s such an obvious combination.
Please, use it!
If they do nothing aggressive and just live their lives, they will still soon outnumber us, because they have multiple wives and hordes of children.
Until Islam is identified as the dangerous political system that it is, and every last muslim is eradicated from our soil, (citizen or not), our nation is at very real risk of survival. These people don’t fool around. They are dead serious in their goal to overtake us, one way or the other.
I made this statement on September 12, 2001, and stand by it.
Are our citizens up to the task of 1) recognizing the threat and 2) resolving to eradicate the threat, “by any means necessary”? Time will tell.
Thanks, Impy : )
Michelle doesn’t look too happy in the head scarf either.
Actually, in France there are restrictions on hijab as was reported in the article and quoted below.
“France bans overt signs of religion, including headscarves, in public schools and in the public service, and Le Pen favors a total ban on displays of religion in all public places.”
How do French Christians feel about not being able to wear a cross or crucifix on a neckchain in public, which it sounds as if she would like to forbid.
I take it she is not getting arrested? Someone whipped out a digital camera before they could plant the evidence at her HQ?
Ask that of the Tanzim gorillas (sic) who holed up in a monastery in Bet Lehem and wiped their asses on illuminated, hand-written Mideival bibles.
ICYMI: BRAVO, Madame Le Pen! May you win the election!
PING!
ESSAYONS MARIE!
Alahwaheu Weckbear ! ( zee French accent!)
Depends if you are a gambler or not.
I bet Le Pen herself wants Macron.
High risk, high reward.
