An antiracist poster in a college writing center insists American grammar is racist and an unjust language structure, promising to prioritize rhetoric over grammatical correctness.'
The poster, written by the director, staff, and tutors of the University of Washington, Tacomas Writing Center, states racism is the normal condition of things, declaring that it permeates rules, systems, expectations, in courses, school and society.
Linguistic and writing research has shown clearly for many decades that there is no inherent standard of English, proclaims the writing centers statement. Language is constantly changing. These two facts make it very difficult to justify placing people in hierarchies or restricting opportunities and privileges because of the way people communicate in particular versions of English.
In the introduction to its commitment section, the Tacoma Writing Center pledges to listen and look carefully and compassionately for ways we may unintentionally perpetuate racism or social injustice, actively engaging in antiracist practices before making nine specific promises to students.

as with the best lies there is a grain of truth in this.
Yes, language is constantly changing and evolving. But, there are accepted standards at any given moment in time that taught at that time as the standard. Being considered “educated” is just a simple way of stating that one has mastered the acceptable standard of knowledge for that moment in time.
It has NOTHING to do with race. Since all races are equally able to master the standard of any given time period.
Saying that having a standard is racist is ridiculous. Even if Ebonics was the “standard” it would have to have rules for it’s usage and thus some would master those rules while other wouldn’t resulting in the same situation we have now.
I could see at very young grades not marking down their grade for spelling and punctuation errors, but they should be marked for learning to occur.
>>Oh stewardess, I speak jive...<<
On thing that drives me nuts! Originally, the end line Barbara Billingsly says is “Nigga don’ wan’ no he’p, nigga don’ get no he’p!”
Somewhere in the last 20 years or so it was PERMANENTLY changed from “nigga” to “sucka.”
I am 1000% sure I am right, since that is what was so shocking: the Beav’s mom using the N word!
I need to find an old VCR copy and get it copied to DVD somehow.
Every time I see that scene I get re-pissed.
Joey, have you ever seen a grown man naked?
If a language has rules, it’s racist to dumb asses.
I mastered the English language at an early age, and began writing.
(Racist, so what?)
In high school, I was published, again, by utilizing the English language.
(Racist, so what?) (And that was in the days after King was shot, too!)
Later in life, I honed my skills, and put myself through ‘The Long Ridge Writers’ School’.
I had some of my work published.
(Racist? The editors must not have thought so.)
I was a guest columnist for a Gannett regional newspaper for six years in Louisiana.
(Racist? Louisiana? That did not affect my being published.)
Now, with all of that under my belt, watch some hyalf-baked half-wit try to tell this bona fide half-breed Injun that i am a ‘racist’. My response would summarily be ... a silent smile.
They have to ‘badmouth” because they’re way too stupid to learn it properly.
The insanity of liberalism raises it’s ugly head every single day with something.
In steps ebonics
And, the UofW is well known for being no more than a day care center for entitlement morons. They haven’t dealt with “education” for over a decade.
As it were.
The alumni best get involved to save their colleges. Let the administrations know donations are at risk.
Nah u talkin’ sum shit up inniss bitch, brah.
LMAO
They just never run out of excuses for people too stupid, too undisciplined, too stoned, too drunk or too lazy to get it right. Their fabricated victims will never get better as long as fools justify their actions.
Cut me some slack, Jack! Chump don' want no help, chump don't GET da help!
Ontological impoverishment.
I remember this from college. It’s the idea that humans will never be able to express themselves perfectly. Only God can. He is the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us. The rest of us speak imperfectly, sometimes sinfully. And every human language would have the same likelihood of falling short.
These complainers don’t need English to be different. THEY need to be different— to be humble enough to use it carefully and forgive those who offend them.
Mah nizzle, keepin onna TRACK boiii...
“We embrace useful neologisms like bigly. I think the writing center would approve.”
“Stune” and “Beeber” are true FR originals.
