PROSSER, Wash. -- A Prosser elementary schoolteacher was placed on leave Friday after the school district said she posted a Facebook message that could be considered hostile or offensive on the basis of national origin.
The post generated a number of emails, phone calls and visits from “concerned citizens and parents” that the school district described as “angry and concerning.”
“Due to possible safety and security concerns, as well as concern for disruption of the school environment, this teacher has been placed on administrative leave pending investigation of this incident by the district,” the Prosser School District said in a news release issued late Friday afternoon.
The release did not identify the teacher, but said she taught at Keene-Riverview Elementary School.
A Facebook post attributed to a Prosser teacher voiced support for boycotting Thursday’s A Day Without Immigrants protests and provided information on how to contact the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency to “report illegal aliens.”
“They will need to know names, locations (either work place or residence) and any other specific information you can provide,” the post said.
“If this offended you in anyway do me a favor and unfriend my American ass!!!” the post said.
Reached by phone Friday evening, Prosser Superintendent Ray Tolcacher did not identify the teacher, but confirmed the wording of that post was the same that led to the teacher being placed on administrative leave.

I used to live near this area. It is extremely populated by illegals, it’s a agriculture mega center.
She should lawyer up and whom ever made this decision to break the laws should all be immediately fired.
Not unbelievable at all; the teachers’ unions and their political arm (the Democratic Party) are huge proponents of open borders because without them many would be laid off. With open borders they have full classrooms, and the fact that they’re impoverishing US citizens to pay for it means nothing to them.
If illegal children killed one teacher per day in the classroom, the teachers’ unions would still support open borders.
But if her post had been about, say, new ways for teachers to interrogate their students as to whether there are any *GASP* *GUNS* in their homes, she’d get a raise!
It isn’t even parents worked up about this (the illegals know they are breaking the law); it is the teachers’ unions. Without open borders, half of the schools in my state (NJ) would be empty/closed.
Someone tell President Trump about this lady...

Did she specify a nationality? Did she describe characteristics which would fit some nationalities but not others? No? Then she has a great potential lawsuit, and should get on the line to her liar...I mean lawyer...right away!

What they fail to say is that the cause for concern is not the teacher, but possible violence by those who complained about the teacher's opinion.
Reminds me of the logic in Orwell's "Animal Farm."

Reporting criminals has nothing to do with national origin. I imagine the teacher is just as happy to see illegal Canadians and Irish reported as illegal Somalis and Iraqis.
