Congressional Black Caucus member Rep. Hakeem Jeffries has called presidential assistant Steve Bannon a stone-cold racist. Jeffries offered that description during an interview with Katy Tur on her MSNBC show yesterday in explaining why it would be hard for him to attend a meeting between President Trump and the CBC if Bannon were present.
Joy Reid played the Jeffries clip on her MSNBC show this morning during a discussion of a possible meeting between the president and the CBC. April Ryan, the reporter that President Trump had requested, at this weeks press conference, to set up a meeting with the CBC, was a guest on Reids show.

It’s sad that somebody like this jerk can get elected in America. I guess he’s the poster boy for how far America has fallen.
The Congressional Black Caucus is about American as La Raza; unassimilated ethnic minority separatists without an inkling as to the roots of this country. They are casting an ever-widening net to snare all of the oppressors (to pay their bills); Asians have already joined whites in that category because they are successful.
Mr.Jeffries should look into his mirror to see who the real Racist is.
He should also make an appointment to see a psychiatrist to cure himself of these negative Racist Projections.
His real self is showing.
From someone who belongs to a group identified solely by race. Irony is so ironic.
Clearly Hakeem does not realize that he has a fair amount of Caucasian blood in him! WhaddaDope!
The inferiority complexes dominate their lives; rather than address group shortcomings they’d rather just normalize them (and point to any outperforming them as “privileged”)...
Anyone who is a member of a “Black Caucus” has no business calling anyone else a Racist.
He clearly hates the "white" part - just as Obama does.
Please don't ask me how to explain it. It is schizophrenic. I am not a psychiatrist. All I know is, people like this are "nuts". Most observers of human nature don't need an M.D. degree to figure that out.
I think the accusation has been slung around so many times it’s losing its power to hurt. At this point, if someone called me a racist because I dislike Islam, I want our borders secured, and I’m no fan of rap, hiphop, and thug culture, I’d just shrug and stare at them.
Why "obviously"? He isn't.
He is the nephew of Leonard Jeffries, though.
But both of his parents were black, which is different from Obama or Kapernick.
What would anyone give a crap what someone from black caucus has to say about race?
I swunny
I beg your pardon; you do what...?
Anyone should be able to sue anyone who calls them a racist and be able to drag them into court to force them to provide objective evidence. Besides a public apology there should be a required 1 year in jail and a minimum fine of 50 percent of the past five years income. Then perhaps the demwit democrats will stop throwing the racist lable every time they have no argument, which is most of the time.
Deal with it jackass! I do not care what a pile of donkey apples thinks.
Here’s the pertinent portion of the transcript.
Reporter: “When you say inner cities, are you gonna include the CBC, mr. President, in the conversations with your urban agenda, your inner city agenda, as well as
Trump: Am I gonnaam I gonna include who?
Reporter: Are you gonna include the Congressional Black Caucus and
Trump: Well, I would. I tell you what, you want to set up the meeting? Do you want to set up the meeting?
Reporter: No, no, no I’m just a reporter.
Trump: Are they friends of yours?
Reporter: I know some of them
Trump: No, go ahead, set up the meeting. Let’s go. Set up a meeting, I would love to meet with the black caucus. I think it’s great, the Congressional Black Caucus, I think it’s great. I actually thought I had a meeting with Congressman Cummings, and he was all excited, and then he said, oh, I can’t move. It might be bad for me politically. I can’t have that meeting. I was all set to have that meeting. You know we called him and called him. And he was all set. I spoke to him on the phone, a nice guy.
Reporter: I hear he wanted that meeting with you as well.
Trump: He wanted it. But we called called called called. I can’t make a meeting with him. Every day, I walk in, I said, I would like to meet with him, because I do want to solve the problem. But he probably was told by Schumer or somebody like that, some other lightweight.
He was probably told he was probably told, don’t meet with Trump. It’s bad politics. That’s part of the problem in this country. Okay. One more.”
The CBC is all talk. They refused Trump’s offer to meet. Presumably the offer is outstanding.
Obviously they would rather stand on the sidelines and hurl epithets.
Chicagoans and other black urban dwellers in crime-ridden, gun-shot riddled cities know where to lay blame now.
I have witnessed it firsthand. Objectively- and I am one of the least politically correct people you’ll know. It’s not pretty, but I agree that it’s neither common nor a conservative/liberal thing. Though to be frank I find the Lamestream Media utterly hypocritical and that their accusations of racism are projections of their own inner demons.
I’ve lived abroad and Americans are the most open hearted and kind people.
