A surprising admission from a former top aide revealed Hillary Clinton's reaction to the result of the 2016 presidential election.
Jennifer Palmieri was the communications director for Clinton's 2016 campaign, and she recently said her former boss was the least surprised member of the campaign that President Donald Trump came out on top.
2 theories:
1. Team Clinton knew from internal polling that they were going to lose; thus, the reason for cancelling the NYC fireworks display, nearly a full week before the election.
2. Team Clinton/Clinton news networks/pubs were so shocked that Clinton was losing on election night that they ceased publishing/announcing the counts for about 2-1/2 hours. During that time, they were trying to find the votes to overcome. However, they began to realize that it would take upwards of 120% to 130% of votes in some major precincts. That would be a red flag for corruption. A few precincts did get away with having more votes than actual voters. Even that, however, was not enough to overcome the Trump lead.
Either theory seems viable. However, some reports were that some FED agency recommended cancelling the fireworks. Also, Clinton’s after-party [which she was too ‘unavailable’ to attend] was held in a room with a symbolic glass ceiling. So, theory #2 may be the more accurate one.
re: fireworks
IIRC, news of the fireworks cancellation came out about Saturday before the election. However, the actual cancellation happened on Wednesday before the election.
By Sunday, the ‘news’ [excuse] was that a FED agency (Homeland Security?) had recommended/requested the cancellation.
Thats what I meant, that they had cancelled it 24 hours or more before the election. I think late internal polling probably showed it breaking for Donald at the last minute, so they got cold feet over the celebration.
My first thought exactly. Palmieri is such a liar.
Former top aide reveals Hillary Clinton wasn’t surprised Donald Trump won election
Patent Bullshiit...just like everything else about her.
Palmers is a known liar.
Hillary ran because she wanted to be president. She figured Trump would be easy to knock off. She was wrong. She can’t admit it. That’s called denial
I think they were assuming that since Obama got handily elected twice, that the democratic candidate would be invincible, especially as the first woman POTUS.
IIRC, the fireworks were cancelled the Thursday before the election. DJT said that when he heard they were cancelled he “offered to buy them from her for five cents on the dollar”. Don’t know if he really did, or he was just goofing.
He said that’s when he believed his chances of winning were very good.
Total BS! To be a Democrat you have to be either stupid or a crook.
She’s a Clinton ya know. She thought her machine and money would be enough
Along with many other things the wikileaks emails seem to show he was the only adult in the room most times. Bad with computer security.
She was too late to go after the "working class" vote.
She thought she could win by the block votes alone....as Obama did.
She really blew it early on....when she told the Penn miners....no jobs for you!!
she had no desire to win. just going thru motions saying words, hollow inside.
Right - just like she couldn’t believe Bubba was playing tonsil-tag with Lewinsky.
Then they put you under this "twilight" sedative the day of the procedure, you slip into these really weird dreams where you imagine yourself outside your body and nothing but good things are happening. Then afterwards, you are wheeled into recovery and your wife is there to drive you home as you come off the medication.
They tell you to take it easy with the eating afterwards but I don't pay any attention to that. We go to a steakhouse and I have the biggest steak on the menu with a couple sides of broccoli and about a gallon of beer. Everything feels so good going down into those squeaky clean intestines.
All in all, a very pleasurable experience.
I read that the fireworks company demanded half payment up front and the campaign wasn’t about to do that.
The fireworks were canceled Monday morning, 7 November.
The fireworks display was announced Thursday, 3 November.
I don't think either story came from the Clinton campaign.
When the original (Thursday) announcement came out, it was ascribed to a source in the FDNY, which issues permits for fireworks displays.
This is total bullsh!t.
Good. Next time VA schedules me for one, I’ll call you. LOL!
