At least six members of the Super Bowl-winning New England Patriots have said they will not visit the White House for the traditional meeting that championship teams have with the president.
Running back LeGarrette Blount, defensive end Chris Long and defensive tackle Alan Branch on Thursday became the latest to announce that they would skip the visit. Long posted on Twitter that he planned on skipping in response to a column in The Daily News that urged him to skip.

Not very patriotic of these patriots. They have an example to follow: Tom Brady found himself busy the last time the team was invited to the White House after a Super Bowl win.

I would absolutley love it if Trump just did away with this whole inviting winning teams to the white house thing. Be done away with the whole thing.
To: ChicagoConservative27
Saying this loud and clear so maybe someone from the Patriots can hear me.
Brady and Company should get a headcount of how many of the “team” are not coming and offer some high school kids (maybe state football champs) these losers spots.
I would stick a fork in the jerks.

I’ll bet Atlanta would have had fewer players staying away.

defensive end Chris Long Howie needs a talking-to with that boy.

Well, one of the reasons I like Tom Brady very much is that he skipped the last invitation to the Patriots from Obama. I suspect that Brady has a bit more PR clout than these fellows. That does not mean that this decision makes any sense; but it will reduce the expenses involved..
