Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch told a US senator Wednesday that President Donald Trump's tweets about the judiciary are "demoralizing" and "disheartening."
In a meeting with Connecticut Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Gorsuch, who's largely been silent since Trump nominated him last week, took exception to Trump calling a federal judge in Seattle a "so-called judge" after blocking the President's travel ban.

Your either the windshield or the bug.
The POTUS chooses not to be the bug.
So CNN is taking the the hearsay of a Democrat with no verification and reporting it as fact.
Want to know what is demoralizing and disheartening?
A sitting president that has to read sections of the federal code to judges, because they’re to freaking stupid to know the materials they base decisions on.
When someone says x is the same as y ... from then on I generally ignore what they have to say. There are always differences.
Is this Blumenthal the CT Senator who lied about serving in Vietnam? THAT Blumenthal?
I agree. While one of the reasons we like Trump, and he was elected, was his style of saying what’s on his mind - and bluntly sometimes. But - there is a reason it’s called “politics” - I think one needs to be shrewd and careful at times too and think about the ramifications a bit.
Hearing some news and tweeting about it 10 seconds later is probably not good for any professional person to do. (We have FR for that!)
I have no doubt Gorsuch made the comment.
I could care less. The Judiciary has overstepped big time.
President Trump has every right to call them out. I would prefer he hold a press conference instead of tweeting.
63 million people voted for Donald J. Trump.
Gorsuch can go to hell.
I have no problem with Trump tweeting now and then when he wants to cut through the clutter of disinformation out there and communicate directly with the people on matters of substance. It infuriates the press which is a good thing.
But his constant tweeting and opining in response to myriad things that his opponents say makes him look hyper defensive and he runs the risk of overexposure. I wish he would dial it back just a little bit.
Whatever stop getting all wobbly ..clearly you don’t have the stomach to do what it takes to take on the establishment. He should be polite and gentlemanly with these people? It doesn’t matter if he stopped tweeting, they will be just as vicious. Why should a judge who clearly went against the law in the Constitution be revered as some deity? Y’all don’t make sense on here when you get all squeamish about his Tweets. The game is different now there’s no nice way dealing with these people have you seen what they’re doing in the streets and how they’re behaving? That’s who this judge was taken up for . I’m sorry I can’t even understand people like you who get scared when Trump goes on the attack using Twitter.
I find it “demoralizing” and “disheartening” that the situation arises in which a trial court judge can call out the President and an appellate panel shows even common decency to the DOJ attorney representing him.
I remember something like that about this guy.

I told y’all I had a bad feeling about Gorsuch when I watched him shake Trump’s hand at his ‘roll out’...
Woo hooo another weak-kneed conservative!!! congratulations letting the media get inside your head? Trump should react depending on how his opponents think of him? They think he’s Hitler. If he hid away for 6 months without popping his head up they would still be calling him names and calling for violence and impeachment.
so apparently Gorsuch spokesperson confirmed. i don’t think we were too happy when BO trashed the Supremes in SOTU over Citizens United either.
I did verify it, it appears he said it.
It’s there excuse to vote for him.
It seems to be taking on a life of its own:
