Getting dumped by Nordstrom, which helped Ivanka launch her brand in 2011, bodes even worse for the first daughters business. This isnt a singular designer making a personal political statement, its a commercial giant slowly backing away from a name it thinks might be bad for business. Neiman Marcus followed suit Friday when it pulled Ivanka Trumps jewelry collection. Whether those actions are the result of a real lag in sales or are publicity-based decisions, if two major retailers are dropping her brand, othersincluding Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, Macys, Zappos, and Amazonnow have precedent to follow. And even if Nordstrom says dropping Ivanka was a performance-based decision, the company hasnt been entirely apolitical, judging by a pro-immigration memo the companys executives sent to their employees last week.

it would be interesting to see how they make their money. I noticed no home depot or lowes superbowl commercials
The = they
Well, it will be a LOOOOOONG time before I step foot in Nordstrom’s or shop online from them again!
Loony Seattle chain— thinks going the way of Starbucks is the way to go.
But haven’t had Starbucks in years, either!
See, this is why it is so difficult to get skilled, honest, hard-working people to run for office. Who wants to put their family through this kind of crap?
I am very frustrated at the delay tactics of the left, but I am very impressed with Trump’s work ethic. He will do some stuff I won’t like, but most of the stuff he’ll do will be great....because he’s one of those honest, hard-working people.
We should remember the sacrifices he and his family are making, and be grateful.
Douchy
I despise going shopping in stores. I would buy her apparel in a heartbeat online.
She needs to go around box stores and be an online seller.
You’re missing the point. The professional left is delegitimizing and denormalizing the duly elected president.
Their goal is to make anything associated with Trump banned from societal norms (economically, culturally, politically). If a celebrity dares to call him a friend, they will hound him until s/he succumbs and disavows. If it’s a retail store that sells a Trump product, they’ll boycott until it gives in. If it’s a magazine or TV segment that dares to normalize Trump with a human interest type piece (non political hit job) they’ll call them Pravda. It’s scary and sickening.
Ivanka, with her new role as a United States President’s daughter, certainly could become much more exclusive with her products. In the meantime, conservatives must boycott the outlets who have pulled her merchandise.
Companies who radically undercut mRket prices may be a front for a criminal enterprise. Two awesome sea food restaurants in St. Pete turned out to be drug distributors. A rare wood dealer in Clearwater, Fl turned out to be a cocaine important business.
This is the world we live in now. Every time someone opens their mouth about politics there is always a back lash with someone getting fired from their job or possibly getting sued or having your products boycotted.
The conservatives have always sat back (until recently) and taken it. The libs go all out full force to destroy you if you speak up.
[She can have a website up and running in no time. I hope she cuts out the retailers]
The company should start a web business, cut out the retailers, and cut prices from the savings of cutting retailers. With affordable prices, many, many woman would buy her products.
Amen.
I’ve let Nordstrom and Neiman’s know exactly how I feel about this, by closing my accounts at both stores.
I then immediately placed an order for an adorable pair of Ivanka black flats, at Zappos. I phoned the order in, just to make sure they knew how happy I was that they’d (so far) not succumbed to this leftist, brownshirt pressure.
Not only that, it hurts the consumers who do want to buy the products. The availability of Ivanka's fashions may not affect me or my wife, but if more stores start dropping, say, Sabra Hummus, that will. "First they came for Ivanka Trump's clothing line...."
...”She can have a website up and running in no time. I hope she cuts out the retailers and Ill but for my wife and daughter directly.”...
Yes, Ivanka needs to put up a website and if her clothing is reasonably priced, she will sell a lot. I will be her first customer.
Not a problem....the Macy’s nearest to me, located in Bangor, Maine....is shutting down due to lousy sales.
Over priced merchandise and way too much Martha Stewart needless kitchen gadgets.
I read today that Belk is pulling Ivanka Trump’ s merchandise. I called but couldn’t get through so I went to online support. I asked why they stopped carrying Ivanka Trump and they sent me this BS and told me I could call their customer relations dept and gave me a number, not an 800 number, I called had to go through a menu and when I finally got through I got a recording that that department was not open yet. Typical runaround you get when you call one of these companies. Anyway this is the BS THEY SENT ME.
We continually review our assortment and the performance of the brands we carry. And we make adjustments as part of our normal course of business operations.
I told them that I was cutting my card up and will mail it back to them and that I would never step foot in their store again.
A lawyer I do business with in town asked my wife and I over to his palatial oceanfront home for dinner. His wife whom we’d never met before introduced us to her two cats...Neiman and Marcus. It told her that we had two cats as well....KMart and Walmart.
