Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said he has "serious doubts" about President Donald Trump's nominee to succeed the late Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court, the first sign of what is likely to be a contentious confirmation battle.
"Now more than ever, we need a Supreme Court Justice who is independent, eschews ideology, who will preserve our democracy, protect fundamental rights, and will stand up to a President who has already shown a willingness to bend the Constitution," Schumer said in a statement.
"Given his record, I have very serious doubts about Judge Gorsuch’s ability to meet this standard. Judge Gorsuch has repeatedly sided with corporations over working people, demonstrated a hostility toward women’s rights, and most troubling, hewed to an ideological approach to jurisprudence that makes me skeptical that he can be a strong, independent Justice on the Court."
Schumer pledged that the Senate Democrats will spearhead an "exhaustive" debate over Gorsuch's nomination.
"Make no mistake, Senate Democrats will not simply allow but require an exhaustive, robust, and comprehensive debate on Judge Gorsuch’s fitness to be a Supreme Court Justice," Schumer siad.
Senator Sherrod Brown
(D-Ohio) also blasted Trump's selection of Gorsuch, criticizing the judge's position on healthcare, business, and workers' rights.
“I cannot support any nominee who does not recognize that corporations are not people," the lawmaker said in a statement.
Yep, to release it this fast means he had a pre-written statement and was just waiting to fill in a name.

That episode is a great analogy and so true. :)
First, none of Obama’s nominees meet any of those requirements he listed off. Second, Schumer knows nothing about the Constitution — only what he wants it to be.
Time to start campaigning in those dem senate seat states for 2018.
I saw her on Tucker Carlson’s show, he had her stuttering and stammering and it was hilarious.

When Gorsuch finally sits down to take questions from the senators he should begin by saying something along the lines of “Can I see by a show of hands how many of you have not already made up your minds on how you intend to vote?”
When zero hands get raised he can politely thank them for their time, walk away from the dog and pony show, and leave them to the job of voting.
No need to drop the mic since it’ll be held in place on the table.
