This is the NFL's biggest event of the year. This is the one that makes Billion's for the league. If you really want to send a message to them that we do not want to have your politics mixed with our football, this is the game to do it. Boycotting games in October and November just won't get the point across. This is THE time to do it
I have read other suggestion to just boycott the half time show. That will never get the point across. They will still bet the multi billions in revenue because you would have tuned in the game and be counted as a viewer. The more viewers, the higher the revenue. Also, the more viewers the less likely they will curtail people like Colin Kaepernick from disrespecting the country. You know Lady Gaga or any other lefty from pop culture is going to lecture us on the evils of Donald Trump. The NFL will not disinvite her nor will they try to stop her. A message has to be sent to the NFL that we are consuming your product for entertainment and relaxation purposes. We are not going to sit through a lecture and have a guilt trip imposed on us. If they won't stop it, then we just won't buy your product anymore.
I get the curling reference. I’m Canadian. lol!
No need to get personal about it, Bushbacker1.
The point is, the NFL doesn’t crack down on some idiot who kneels during the National Anthem. And they espouse liberal causes in who they have as advertisers.
But the direct money impact from the NFL, which is even more important, is small, comparatively speaking. Probably miniscule in comparison.
But things like the Ford Foundation, The Tidings Foundation, and the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, give huge amounts of money to causes we abhor, and that money is huge. While the Ford, Tidings, and Gates foundations are not actually Ford or Microsoft, if you are an employee and you give money to those foundations, your contributions may be matched, or in the case of the Ford Foundation, even tripled.
Black Lives Matter got $130 million last year in a large chunk, and the Ford and Gates foundations gave millions to that chunk. That money is doing far more damage than someone kneeling during the National Anthem.
Um no - I’m not going to mix politics with entertainment, so I will be watching the game.
I actually think that the SB is not the best time because there are so many parties that fewer individual TVs are on the game.
Everyone I know who loves football will either have a party or be at a party.
My wife has been hiring and firing television talent based on ratings for nearly 20 years. I can 100% assure you that no one is spooking your box. It’s ridiculous.
Yep, this is better:
Unless you’re in a Nielsen family, your viewing never has any effect on TV ratings OR viewership.
Never.
Any.

I do not, and even if I did, “they” still would not know. Check the posts from those in the know.
Where do people get the idea that non-Nielsen family DVR viewing is measured for TV ratings?
Its a nonsense myth.

Trumpriots. Tired of winning?
Goodell has to be the biggest Falcons fan right now. What if he has to award trophy to Brady,Belichick and Kraft? Must see TV.
OK! Upon further review, I’ll boycott Black Lives Matter!
Finally cut the cord last week and get all networks except CBS so I wont be watching by default.
LOL, we’re on the same page then...
I really have no interest in this, might have had the Packers won.
I certainly have absolutely no interest in seeing Lady GaGa.
The Superbowl has turned into a Lurid Spectacle I can live without.
I tell you if there was a cable channel showing old NFL games from the 1960’s and 70’s I wold watch it. Those were the Golden and Glory years. Today’s product id just boring and worthless.
Sorry, can’t go along with boycott. Being a Falcon fan and Atlantan since 1974, these opportunities don’t come around too often.
Regarding the Colin Kaepernick part, remember his team was 2-14, and will probably be 0-16 next year if he is on the team.
1 - the league doesn’t make any money on the SB directly, the network makes the money, hoping to earn back what they’re already paying the league, and will be paying through the 2020 season
2 - if you’re not a Neilsen family they don’t know if you’re watching
3 - the boycotters are doing a lot more mixing politics and football than the league
And finally 4 - Super Bowls that have New England are great games, I ain’t boycotting that
