This is the NFL's biggest event of the year. This is the one that makes Billion's for the league. If you really want to send a message to them that we do not want to have your politics mixed with our football, this is the game to do it. Boycotting games in October and November just won't get the point across. This is THE time to do it
I have read other suggestion to just boycott the half time show. That will never get the point across. They will still bet the multi billions in revenue because you would have tuned in the game and be counted as a viewer. The more viewers, the higher the revenue. Also, the more viewers the less likely they will curtail people like Colin Kaepernick from disrespecting the country. You know Lady Gaga or any other lefty from pop culture is going to lecture us on the evils of Donald Trump. The NFL will not disinvite her nor will they try to stop her. A message has to be sent to the NFL that we are consuming your product for entertainment and relaxation purposes. We are not going to sit through a lecture and have a guilt trip imposed on us. If they won't stop it, then we just won't buy your product anymore.
I can’t boycott. I’ve not seen a superbowl in decades.
Why don’t you just kneel for the National Anthem, then!
Another battle for another day. But you raise an excellent point. Ford, apple et al give money to liberal causes but do NOT give money to conservative/traditional causes. Why do you think that is? Could it be because they know they will face a well organized boycott if they do?
Then they may not know you watched. If you only use an antenna then they can’t tell.
Well I’m watching it being a Falcons fan...crap I’ll be dead before they get back. So have fun watching re-runs of Flipper
It is not a myth. The bell curve is real. The tails of the curve is where the best athletes are found. Read Murray's "The Bell Curve"
I know that.
By the way, if they know via box or cable, why is Nielsen still around? Just curious.
Here’s the problem with boycotts of anything these days.
- We supported Ford because they didn’t take Obama’s bailout. Now we have to boycott them because of the Ford Foundation?
- We bought Microsoft Xboxes because they were an American company versus the PS2, PS3 and PS4. Now we have to boycott them because “reason”?
- We have to boycott the NFL because they don’t crack down on wife beaters, flag burners (Exaggerating here, okay?), are mixed on their treatment of murderers, drug abusers, steroids, concussions and social issues but.... we all love football, our team(s) are fine it’s the league, player X is one of the good guys.
I mean it’s easy to boycott or dislike a person and even some truly bone headed stupid corporations (Target, I’m looking in your general direction.) but with all that is going on in this country I can’t track of why I’m supposed to hate, love, ignore, buy or cherish based on message board sentiment or political “sides”.
So, if you can let us know.... let us know.
The first football game I have watched in at least five years was this year’s Rose Bowl. When I watched any pro sports, I began to feel the hand of the teams in my pocket. They blackmail politicians into building their sand boxes with taxpayer money, and then charge outrageous prices for the tickets.
I won’t be watching the superbowl this year.
I agree with your “Brady” reason. I’m already boycotting Starbucks, Sears, JC Penney, Target and a host of other retailers and tv shows.
Screw the NFL and screw ESPN. I despise these organizations as much as the main stream media. I have strong principles and I stand by them. Just like I no longer go to movie theaters to support movie actors. There’s enough college football to satisfy my interest.
No!
agreed
I’m a huge Pats fan & will watch it to see Roger Goodell die of embarrassment when he has to stand next to Robert Kraft, Bill Belichick & Tom Brady after handing them the Lombardi Trophy as Super Bowl Champions again..
I’ll also take comfort in Trump welcoming them to the White House in April after Brady snubbed Obama two years ago declining his invitation after the Patriots’ last Super Bowl victory...Go Pats!
Any inkling from me about turning off the Tube and boycotting the NFL with the Pats in the Superbowl (again) and I'll have a very-conservative-but-now-pissed-New-England-Koala-in-Patriots-pajamas-with-an-AR chasing me around the house.
I'll battle elsewhere and take my chances with you guys disowning me.
Good luck and thankyaverymuch.d;^)

Agree to disagree...
When that moron Goodell sees the TV contracts dollars get cut because of lousy ratings during the season and the owners are getting a haircut...
all this BS will come to a quick stop...
I don’t know about Atlanta, but I know the Pats have been focused on football this year. None of that horseshit that you see on other teams.
Love or hate Brady, he is a trump guy and he is simply concerned with making Roger Goodell hand him the Lombardi trophy. Or will ole RG have Teddy Bruschi hand it over to him as they did with the Hunt Trophy.
For that reason alone, it will be worth watching.
Ahhh...no they don’t.
Having worked in the business for 20 years, I can assure you that the only thing the executives give a shit about is your bill.
If there are two-way boxes hooked up to a ratings terminal the customer knows it and has signed away all of their privacy rights. And even then, the cable company does not see what they are watching.
Your paranoia is showing.
