This article concerns me a bit. It seems we are making the same mistake that the left did eight years ago in assuming that an electoral victory in the current cycle implies that our opposition is completely finished as a viable political force. Think about Trump’s victory for a moment. We seem to be treating it as an overwhelming victory. It was not. While ot was certainly a clear, decisive and legitimate win, it was in reality also a very close win. Three states, PA, MI, and WI, were all decided by less than 1% margins. It is not difficult to imagine that the Dems might be able to turn those states blue in 2020, especially if they nominate a candidate who isn’t a felon and isn’t horribly unlikable.
I am not trying to spread doom and gloom. I am trying to point out that now is not the time to sit back and rest on our laurels. We won this battle, but the political war with the left continues unabated. We need to keep up the fight, not retire from the battlefield believing that the war is won.

We're not making the mistake, and won't. The writer is making the mistake!

Yes. Much safer to keep the proverbial boots and knuckles on. We can’t be at peace until we have utterly crushed the enemies of this country.
Precisely.
Oh, I think most of us know the battles in this war have just begun...
The Trump Administration needs to root out fraud in the voting process. Early voting eliminated, picture IDs required, illegal aliens prevented from voting, cleaning up the voting rolls, etc.
This would be a huge help in 2018, 2020 and beyond.
The insidious hard-core Left hath always been amongst us, is amongst us now, and will always be amongst us.
Its ideological mindset is almost bibilical in scope.

This political war has been raging my entire life time, and I am not a spring chicken by any stretch of the imagination.
The election of PRESIDENT TRUMP is only one small battle in the global war on the progressives and the NWO.
Never let your guard down, and plan for a very long and hard fought road to a hoped for victory.
They will never surrender until they are totally destroyed.
so long as new york boston philadelphia Chicago los angeles sanfrancisco all exist america is in danger
Exactly right.
This is absolutely not doom and gloom or a damper on the win. It is practical and honest.
I plan to keep winning. How? by continuing to fight. I hope all conservatives join me. And I hope we are joined by newly minted conservatives : liberals who have woken up and seen the light, who are able to deal with facts and not just feelings.
We also need to stop letting the left define the argument. Although we won the election, the left is *still* shaping the debate. As evidence: the completely unfounded claim that Russia influenced the election has been at the top of the news cycle for days, despite the fact that absolutely no evidence of such influence or description of how the Russians supposedly effected such influence has yet to be produced. Fox News should be dismissing the claim mockingly, not taking it seriously, and certainly not giving it hours and hours of coverage.
