Most presidents even those elected in polarized times or controversial circumstances enjoy some sort of honeymoon period after they win an election. People tend to put their hopes and dreams into the idea of hope a new president represents, even if they did not vote for him. It's a reminder of our fundamental optimism as a people.
Donald Trump, as we are reminded every day, is not most presidents. And, according to new numbers from Gallup, he never had anything close to a honeymoon period.
Just 4 in 10 people polled by Gallup say they approve of the way Trump is handling his transition a stand-in for presidential approval in this odd three-month interregnum. Those are the lowest marks ever measured by Gallup for an incoming president. They are also half yes half as high as the 83 percent of people who approved of how Barack Obama handled his own presidential transition in late 2008 and early 2009. And Trump's numbers even track well below those of George W. Bush, whose transition was cut short by an extended recount that left lots of the country unconvinced that he had actually won.

I have to hand it to the media.
Just when I didn’t thing they could get any worse, they have melted down into some twisted entity resembling the Sunday cartoon section.
This borders on hysteria.
Guess they want a civil war. Is Pajama Boy going to fight for their team?
Even WOR Radio today admitted this broke down along partisan lines. IE meaning: Democrats hate him!
The media is still clinging to polls.
How did that work out for them in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin?
I don’t want LibTards to hate him; I want them to FEAR him.
And then, with time, grow to RESPECT him.
Meh. A girl can dream, can’t she? ;)
Polls = Fake News.
Well, they didn’t get the nation destroyed under Obama, so what other option is there for them?
This is plan B pure and simple.
DT’s happen on withdrawal. I’m pretty sure the compost is still drinking.
If anyone knows unpopularity it’s the Media. Used-car salesmen and head lice are more popular than the Media.
I fear that some convinced radical—some well indoctrinated soul will try to shoot Trump, Blow him up with a bomb or grenade, Ram into him with a car or truck or some other thing. I will be surprised if the attempt isn’t made on the 20th. I think, Obamaphiles will even burn up the White House or do a Guy Fawkes and blow it up—least Trump defile the place. The hate must be like what Lincoln faced in 1860. If Trump should be killed—they would dance in the streets—and fake some tears. We on the right better be ready for anything. They will stop at nothings.
Damn, they still pushing polls after their election debacle?
Yea Freepers. Lets just stop with the threads on any poll from WaPo and NYT. Hows that? Takes up bandwidth on the site.
Fake news. In fact, old fake news.
The “honeymoon period” described above is how the press has always described the “first 100 days”.
But the only reason it looks like a honeymoon is that it is traditionally the “payback” period, where a bunch of spending bills are passed that benefit those that donated to the winning candidate.
The entire congressional “crew” is aware of that and play along for the great day when it’s “their turn”.
The “honeymoon period” has always been a racket, but never revealed as such by the “free press”.
Seriously - after their MORE than epic fail this past election, I’m surprised that anyone would take any poll about anything seriously.
The left has just had over 100 years of planning and work plus several billion dollars blown out of the water due to selecting the most incompetent candidate possible. They are not going to go out quietly.
It's good to know they will soon be relics fit only for attic insulation.
Trump is so unpopular, that’s why so many people attended his rallies for over a year before the election. Trump is so unpopular, that’s why he has millions of facebook and Twitter followers. How could such an unpopular guy like Trump have won the election? /extreme sarcasm
Dems lost over 1000 seats locally and nationally since Obama took office yet we’re constantly told how POPULAR Obama is, yet why didn’t his party benefit from his popularity? Oh maybe because polls are bullshit most of the time, and people outside of La, and NYC and other cities like them, people actually HATE Obama’s policies and his divisive racial BLM nonsense? So they took it out on his party.
So unpopular he turned blue states to red first time in 30 years.
Outside of LA and NYC DJT won the popular vote, and big. He won over 3000 counties compared to HRC’s 58 ...something close that.
