Battle of the Bulge, December 20-27, 1944
Lieutenant General Harry Kinnard discusses his experience with the 101st Airborne Division at the Siege of Bastogne, a significant part of the larger Battle of the Bulge. General Kinnard suggested that General McAuliffe reply to the Germans request for surrender simply with NUTS!

Good evening, Publius, and thank you for Rachmaninov’s “The Star Spangled Banner”.
P. D. Q. Bach (1807-1742) is the alter ego of composer Peter Schickele. The key to this carol is where you place the comma.
This is wonderfully clever.
Checking in....”Come, Lord Jesus!”
Good evening, Pro....and purple firearms this year? Accessories?
Although it carries a late opus number, this is early Brahms before he grew the full face beard and exchanged his four pack a day habit for top-shelf Cuban stogies. It was written for the birth of the first child of Josef and Amalie Joachim. Josef was a long time friend and musical collaborator of Brahms, but unfortunately that marriage was headed for the rocks from the beginning.
It started with a Spanish Renaissance poem by Lope de Vega about the birth of Jesus translated into German by Emmanuel Geibel. Brahms set it for contralto with piano and viola accompaniment. While the contralto sings Brahms musical line of Geibels poem, the viola sings a completely different German Christmas carol under her as a counter-melody.
The video has both German and English subtitles.
No firearms presents this year, just ammo, LOL!
Spent a nice day and lunch with the kiddos.
We ate at Red Robin and then came to my place and did presents and hung out.
Gotta love Lehrer! LOL!
My personal favorites are :
“Shirley, Shirley”
And
“We like Sheep”
But a lot of folks can’t handel my goofy sense of humor! LOL!
