Democratic voters are almost three times as likely to have "blocked, unfriended, or stopped following someone on social media" after Donald Trump's victory, according to a study released Monday.
The non-partisan Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI ) found 24 percent of Democrats disassociated themselves from people on social media because of a political postings, while only nine percent of both Republicans and independents report doing the same to those in social media circles.
When breaking down categories further using conservative and liberal characterizations, liberals say they eliminated someone from their social media circle due to what they shared online 28 percent to 8 percent of conservatives.
For self-described moderates, 11 percent say they blocked, unfriended or unfollowed someone due to what they posted online. . .

I unfriended people during this election. It wasn’t really because of their political beliefs. It was because they exposed themselves of being hateful vile human garbage.
Sore loser snowflakes. What a bunch of dumb-sh*t crybabies. Loving the schadenfreude!
Yet they have no hesitance to showing their own political bias. I am inundated with posts by people I know who post only Dem propaganda.
But, but, but......what about tolerance?
I keep liberals around just to watch them melting.
True and so do RINO or Anti-trump Republicans.
Good. I have a lot more offending to do....
That’s because politics is their religion, and the all-controlling state is their god.
Yes, they are much less tolerant with anyone who does not think in lockstep with them. It comes from the attitude that they are “morally and intellectually” our superiors.
Thus we get standard libtard response:
I found this to be absolutely true on Facebook. Numerous “friends” unfriended or blocked me. I’ve only unfriended one person ever during my 8 FB years. That guy insulted me once, and then again even after I extended an olive branch.
Ok, so it was a literal olive branch and I extended it sort of near his left eye.
I don't really "do" facebook but it lets me see pics of relatives babies,etc...
but I certainly don't go on there for rude, caustic words and accusations....
And the RATs are always talking about tolerance.
Personally, I wouldn’t be friends with a Democrat in the first place.
A lot of Democrat/Liberals are very fragile in the sense of mental health. They’re just barely hanging on, are one trigger incident away from a complete psychotic break, going postal, doing away with themselves, etc.
This is one of the reasons why NPR is so careful to put news that might be unpleasant to Democrat/Liberals in a way that actually sounds like it supports their belief system, even though the underlying facts say the opposite. They know their listeners can be very easily triggered to fly completely off the handle, decide to never give another penny to them, go jump off the Golden Gate bridge, and the like.
I can’t gloat over this one, I have unfriended a lot of liberals on Facebook. I’m actually willing to be on friendly terms with them in real life, I just don’t want to see their constant links to Salon on my newsfeed. Some would say “just unfollow them” but here’s the thing: if I’m still linked with them, and I don’t take them up on their assumptions, they will think I can’t think of any way to refute them. Silence implies consent, and all that. I do not consent and I don’t want them thinking I do, so I unlink from them.
I did the same for mostly the same reasons. I have decided I do not need trash in my life (some of them were relatives)
