The Los Angeles Times has published an editorial arguing that the Electoral College shouldnt be allowed to choose the next U.S. president, on the grounds that it is unconstitutional.
Needless to say, Kenneth Josts argument is a very bold one, since the Constitution explicitly creates the Electoral College and describes how it works; the system was even refined with the 12th Amendment. But Jost, an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, says thats no barrier to having the Supreme Court abolish the Electoral College by fiat.

This guy is a law professor?
Maybe it’s just constitutional law he is ignorant about?
I’d wager he never passed the Bar.

Strange how something in the constitution is unconstitutional.
He makes a stronger argument that the USSC is too powerful.
Well, they put so much effort into generating fraudulent votes by illegals in big cities like Los Angeles that they can’t bear to see it wasted. :)
More “Constitution is unconstitutional because Hillary lost” #fakenews.
No, that's not it at all.
For the past 70 years, the Supreme Court has asserted the right to make social policy against the actions of Congress and especially the State Legislatures. The list of notorious decisions seizing and then expanding this supposed power is too long to enumerate.
Eliminating the Electoral College is no more of a challenge for this alleged power than eliminating school prayer, or eliminating State Senates apportioned by geography, or ruling capital punishment unconstitutional, or voiding 47 states' abortion laws, or their famous excursions into homosexuality.
This editorial is merely the opening shot in yet another Leftist campaign to get through the Supreme Court what they cannot get otherwise. It will be followed by other op-eds, "studies", Law Review publications, ABA endorsement and then the inevitable lawsuit.
You noticed that too? Just like voter fraud only exists in counties that she lost.
The two words that do not appear any where in our Constitution are:

L.A. Liberals
The premise is the SCOTUS is supreme to all other branches and to the Constitution itself, and answerable to no one. In other words, they are our dictators.
Once Trump has appointed 3 or 4 judges, I wonder how much slack the LAT/WaPo/NYT etc will be willing to cut the SCOTUS?
What goes around, comes around.
Yes, unless the power of the USSC to hear appeals against states that raise XIV Amendment issues is ended, I'm afraid the Electoral College is a goner.
Constitutionally created Electoral College is Unconstitional.

Main reason Eastern European immigrants tend to be capitalists is because they have experienced socialism first hand.
something plainly written in the -constitution- is unconstitutional. And the Supreme court is a sort of super constitutional convention. Got it.
I think ill just hang on to my friend Mr. 870 a bit longer. Thanks.
As if I needed any further evidence that Georgetown is a sh!t school ...
Best. Election. EVER!
