The last one was the first one I didn’t go see. I don’t plan to see any of the future ones, either.
TV and movie trends: all chicks are badass.
Except if you look at them cross-eyed. Then they need laws, courts, enforcement, NOW and a bizillion equalizers.
Retread of the ‘60s hit.
Washington Post reporting on Disney... Yeah, got it.
The last Star Wars was one of the worst films I’ve ever seen. So I’m not inclined to waste my money on this one, regardless of their rancid politics.
That the Post has to write this article is telling.
I was 18 when the 3rd Star Wars movie came out About 1985?
Was so bad I never went back
Pc is now so bad, I don’t bother with movies, tv, radio, sports, newspapers...
Communism is shit, I have no use for communism presrnted to me as entertainment.
Still more weenie hand-wringing from the Post.
Yes, Disney has clearly sided with the Imperium.
The force is with the people and Skywaker Trump.
Disney has dropped a crapload of money to buy the franchise and is greedily cackling at milking it for years to come ... [s] so of course they’ll throw all that away, and their carefully worked out details to maximize their profits (we’re talking potentially billions here) for a political stunt. [/s]
Sorry bozo - your writers said it was and they wrote it that way to begin with!
You either reprimand them or suffer the consequences.
I see a ton of good reviews on the web.....which means it sucks.
Just like all the expert election polls. Disney probably spent a huge chunk of money on buying the reviewers. This film is supposed to bring in billions to the theme parks. No negative reviews will be allowed!
I’ll wait for it to come out on bluray.
Not interested in the theme park either. Too expensive
i can’t wait to give the gang in hollywood my hard earned shekels to see empowered women, blind chinamen, arabs and a mexican fight white people. ( And the chief bad White guy wears white). ha ha get it? the bad guys wear white now. Good one disney
I already bought two tickets. We’re seeing it at a 2 AM showing - the only time we’re both not working.
Am I the only one to notice that this is the second time Disney’s remade Mulan as a live-action film and called it Star Wars? Warrior princess, black sidekick for comic relief?
Not only is that racist, if it’s Hilary’s campaign with better special effects, it’s hardly surprising that her base stayed home. Disney’s terrified that the public will likewise fail to show up.
I look forward more to RedLetterMedia’s Half in the Bag review than I do the movie.
I haven’t paid to see a “Star Wars” movie since I got taken by “The Phantom Menace,” although I did check the next two out of the library for free on DVD and fast-forwarded through them in about 15 minutes. After that, I was done. So I can’t say I’m “boycotting” this one, just avoiding it like the last one. I think “outgrown” is the proper term.
While some of the accusations about the film’s content are obviously incorrect or overblown, the filmmakers brought it on themselves. They can’t complain that Republicans think it’s slanted against them when they send out tweets that combine Star Wars logos with anti-Trump memes, and when the screenwriter draws deliberate parallels between the plot and the election. Hollywood liberals just can’t help themselves: if they have any forum, they use it to broadcast their hatred and contempt for Republicans, even if it alienates half the target audience.
Personally, I always assumed that since the Empire was a totalitarian thought-control movement to put everybody under one big central government, headed by a cold, iron-fisted dictator, then it represented Hillary and her ilk. And the rebels, being a bunch of freedom-craving, skirt-chasing, gun-toting, money-loving entrepreneurs who hate rules and regulations, represented Republicans. Chewbacca even has hair kind of like Donald Trump’s.
When they make one on par with what are now known as Episodes IV and V, then I might be inclined to go see another. Being as the last five films were quite underwhelming, I don’t see that happening.
Bwawawawawawawawawa! The Left still thinks people are stupid.
After I saw the original Star Wars in a theater as a young girl, when friends would talk about who was cuter Luke or Hon Solo (sp?)I wasn’t into either of em, preferring the mysterious and somehow sympathetic Darth Vader instead.
