They want to set a legal precedent to allow ALL electors to ignore the will of the people.
I suspect that they are trying to get a ruling that frees them as well as other electors.
If they don’t have to vote for Hillary, then a whole bunch of other don’t have to vote for Trump in states that he won.
That’s the game they are playing.

They are trying to force a crack in the system that it can be used as a precedent in other states to force the door wide open - delegitimize the constitution.
