Dems grapple with lessons from Clinton disaster (Freeper input needed)

Democrats are grappling with how to draw the right lessons - and avoid the wrong ones - after an extraordinary presidential election.

Hillary Clinton's loss to Donald Trump is an unmitigated disaster for Democrats, who want to ensure nothing like it happens again. But Clinton’s popular-vote lead over Trump is so large that it complicates the question of how to recalibrate for future elections.

[Snip]

"Everybody can point to something that went wrong - and they’re right," he said. "It makes it impossible to know what the party really needs to do.

"The [Bernie] Sanders people believe, if only we had been more populist we'd have won, and they're right. The Hillary people believe, if only Bernie hadn't attacked her so hard in the primary we'd have won, and they're right. Everybody's right."

Adding another explosive ingredient to the mix, The Washington Post reported Friday that the CIA now believes Russia intervened in the election to help Trump win. The story clearly has some distance left to run.

Meanwhile, the immediate direction of the Democratic Party is further complicated because it has no obvious leader with the exception of President Obama, who will leave office in less than six weeks.

The RATS will have to stop bitching about China and Russia, both are Communist, just like they are.

The GOP insiders in 2012 concluded in their “autopsy” that the problem was not supporting Amnesty. As a result, all the politicians other than Cruz marched lockstep for Amnesty, and all got crushed by President Trump.

I don’t expect today’s insiders to do any better on the democrat side. I expect them to choose the excuse they want to have believed and count on control of information to force that excuse on listeners. As much as I want democrats to fail politically, I would rather see them draw the right conclusions from this election.

“It makes it impossible to know what the party really needs to do.”........

Lets all hope the bastards never figure it out and that we never have to deal with them again.

I know how to teach the Democrats how to win, but heavens! I would never say such a thing in public in case they took me seriously!

They really only need to learn one thing:
end the machine

Get rid of the super delegates, and stop the filtering process that keeps candidates from running. Democrats have always been addicted to this machine that decides whose turn it is, and carefully structures the primaries to give it to them. It took them two tries to give it to Hillary because she’s so unpopular she lost to what was supposed to be token resistance in 2008. So they tried to not even give her token resistance this year, and increased the super delegate count to make sure any irritating upstarts that thought an unopposed primary was wrong would still lose. If Bernie had won the primary (which he did, except for super delegates) his protectionist stance keeps the Rust Belt dem.

It really is just that simple. Be more GOP in the primaries. Sure GOP primaries get kind of crazy with everybody and his dog capable of running and sometimes actually running. But it at least lets the winner actually have won, and puts them in much better footing for the general.

The only type of advice I’d offer would be the same type of advice Democrats offer to the Republican Party:

Concentrate on things that are completely unrelated to the reason you lost last time, and keep losing, losers.

"Democrats are grappling with how to draw the right lessons - and avoid the wrong ones - after an extraordinary presidential election."

Democrats will not draw the correct lessons from this election, nor have they learned anything from their stunning losses over the course of Obama's time in office.

If they were truly capable of simple observation and rational analysis, they'd no longer be liberals or Democrats.

No, they will view everything that's happened through the distorting lens of their warped ideology, and thus draw the same sort of erroneous conclusions that led them to the wilderness to begin with.

I dunnoh.
Maybe if they weren’t so hateful and corrupt, things would have gone better for them.
