Colin Kaepernick's parents respond to 'over the top' criticism from admiral

After standing by proudly but quietly as their son continued to protest the national anthem and draw intense criticism, the parents of Colin Kaepernick finally decided to talk about his decision and beliefs.

"Colin is carrying a heavy load and following a difficult path that he truly believes in. He is putting his entire future and possibly his life on the line for those beliefs," Teresa and Rick Kaepernick wrote in a statement released to The Undefeated. "As his parents, it pains us to read articles and tweets saying that his family does not support him; this could not be further from the truth. We want people to know that we are very proud of our son and admire his strength and courage in kneeling for the rights of others."

Earlier in the season, Teresa Kaepernick had said that "it's not in our best interest or Colin's best interest" to comment, but that was before virtually everyone had weighed in and Kaepernick had received death threats for taking a knee during "The Star-Spangled Banner" in an effort to protest police brutality.

Iowa congressman accuses Kaepernick’s ‘Islamic’ TV host girlfriend of being behind his ‘changed political views’ and Black Lives Matter protest - and even claims she has made him ‘sympathetic to ISIS’
Republican Steve King has blasted San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick for supporting the Black Lives Matter movement
King suggests that Kaepernick has come under the political influence of his avowedly liberal girlfriend, TV and radio personality Nessa Diab
Quarterback has come under fire for refusing to stand during the singing of the national anthem
Aside from being liberal, Diab is also a Muslim, leading some conservatives to wonder if Kaepernick has secretly converted to Islam
King has generated controversy in the past, most recently by claiming that non-whites have contributed nothing to civilization

As much as I detest Kapernick, I can’t blame his parents for supporting him. They are his parents. They love him. Supporting and agreeing with a child isn’t the same, even though it appears so in this matter.

Just a matter of time before Kaepernick’s girlfriend convinces him that his white parents are the evil decedents of whip lashing plantation overseers.

Colin is carrying a heavy load and following a difficult path that he truly believes in.

Heavy load, difficult path? Hauling all that money to the bank must be a lot of work. I just love when rich A-holes complain about how unfair America is. The jerk makes more in 3 games than I made in 30 years of service.

Shut up and play football you putz.

As much as I would like to pile on Suck-a-D**k's parents for protecting him, that's what parents are supposed to do.

Adopted or not, I think that, while we would give lip service to their disavowal of him, we would also think badly of them for not protecting their child.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Suck-a-D**k brings shame upon himself, his adoptive parents and siblings, the '49ers, the NFL, American veterans and America.

His hypocrisy and moral cowardice are wholly at fault. Whether he has converted to Islam, or his penis has converted to Islam, makes no difference. He is known by his actions, and not just his words.

I think someone your animosity would be more appropriately heaped upon would be golden spoon Jed York, CEO of the the 49
ers although everyone that gives a damn about the 49ers wants ole Jed fired immediately.

Jed’s 36 and his mom used to be married to Edward DeBartolo, Jr.

He and his mom could stop this immediately if they WANTED to.

So what’s the problem then?

I think that the '49ers Family underestimated the blowback of this unqualified embarrasing prima donna snowflake "quarterback."

Whether or not the franchise tacitly supports Suck-a-D**k's political or social leanings, their inaction and telling silence on this volatile issue (taking a knee), and their, so far, unwillingness to punish or restrict such behavior (all the while wearing the uniform and being paid by the franchise), speaks volumes about just how far the NFL and its teams have fallen from America's Sport and are losing a large chunk of the American citizen fans that paid their rent.

Words have power, and consequences, and the NFL, to their fear, are finding consequence.

The Left and the DNC and the GOP-e and "elites" in this country clearly never understood American citizens; who we are, what we are, what we stand for, what we believe in, and what line(s) we are not willing to cross.

“——possibly his life on the line for those beliefs,”

And he believes in something that is NOT true, but much hyped by the lying press.

He deserves anything that comes his way.

They are his parents and they’re standing by their son. I don’t agree with Kaepernick’s empty-headed posturing and babbling about issues he barely understands, but his parents are doing what parents should - standing by their son in public. Hopefully they’re having a word with him in private.

Not quite - Jed's mom is actually the sister of Edward DeBartolo Jr.

Admiral Harris is a Naval Flight Officer with 400 hours of combat time in P-3s. I’m guessing he’s put more “on the line” than Kaepernick has ever dreamed of. He’s also the son of a Navy Chief and his mother is Japanese, so it’s a fair bet he encountered some form of racism as a child. But instead of making a public spectacle of himself (while throwing away his career) Admiral Harris chose to serve his country with honor and distinction.

Too bad every young skull full of mush knows who Colin is, and virtually none have heard of Harry Harris.

His life???????

He should be in no danger - it's his side of the aisle that kills people that disagree with them....
