Howdy, PRO.
Sounds like you had a good day, even if you do have snow. BRRR! Lunch with your son AND got the driveway shoveled without lifting a finger - - except to point here and there. LOL!
Cold here, too, but no snow. Only made it up to 34 this afternoon and we’re expecting a low in the teens tonight.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!! Glad to hear you’re better. I was worried you might have a crud that hung on a while.
And YAY for finding the problem with the TV quickly. Glad it was a simple fix.
No nights out for a while, I guess. We found out last week the owner of our hangout that closed isn’t going to reopen in another location after all. We might find another place to go but for the time being, we’re at home on Fri. nights.
Good evening, Sand....((HUGS))...I’m so glad Friday finally got here.
I’m ready for the weekend to begin.
Any projects ongoing? Tree up? Lights that don’t need a ladder?
All our lights are inside the big picture window. No ladders for me, especially footed in the snow. Tomorrow I have to find out why the tree lights don’t come on.
Howdy, M-L.
Is the cold keeping you and Penny inside or have you been giving her new coat and your FUBO coat a workout? :-)
This song was originally part of Anything Goes, but it was cut from the musical early in the process. Cole took it out of his desk drawer and inserted it into this movie musical two years later. The original lyrics were a bit too suggestive for the Hays Code and MGM, so there was a last minute adjustment.
This clip from the movie highlights Jimmy Stewarts weakness as a singer, and as a result it wasnt something he did again. He comes off as a uncomfortable high tenor.
Eleanor Powell was no great shakes as a singer either, so the studio had her voice dubbed by Marjorie Lane. But Eleanor did her own dancing in this sequence, and she gets off a few of her patented high kicks.
Cold your way too, huh?
I hear that the midwest and northeast is going to get the Arctic chill moving into their area soon too.
We're suppose to get down into single digits next week at night, Brrr.
Any news your way?
Yep, it got cold here and it’s even moved as far south as FL. I chatted with my step-mother this afternoon and they expect a low close to freezing tonight.
We’ll warm up a tad tomorrow and it’ll be decent until next Wed. or Thurs. when the bottom will drop out again. Might get a little snow Wed. night. :-(
Single digits up there, huh? I feel for ya! That’s just too cold!
No real news from here. I didn’t step outside but once today and that was to throw away empty cat food cans. That was enough! LOL!
This 1936 recording is more Dixieland than Big Band, and Billie works around the bar lines expertly. Her sideman are some magnificent musicians.

Penny loves her morning walks and we do at least two miles a day. I have hauled out the sewing machine to make some adjustments to her coat, as even “EXTRA LARGE” is a stretch around her extremely muscular girth.
I also made a prototype jacket out of an old Harley sweatshirt, but the pattern (XL) was much too small for her. So I enlarged the pattern, and will make another attempt, and the Harley Sweatshirt Jacket (which came out beautiful) will be a Christmas Gift to my sister’s dog who is a lab/coon-hound , and a little thinner.
It felt good sewing again. I am good at it.
The FUBO coat is ready to roll. They are predicting snow for tomorrow.
The News showed some really bad weather and traffic accidents in the Midwest.
We don't as a rule get that much snow. It's been 8 years since our last blizzard. But driving here in snowy conditions is dangerous because nobody knows how to drive on ice and snow. I know how to do it from my youth in New Jersey, but I'm rusty after 45 years on the West Coast.
I lived 16 years in FL, and forgot how to drive in snow.
Guess I shall have to relearn.
MGM and Louie B. Mayer knew how to recycle musical material, and this number was scheduled to make its reappearance in Love Finds Andy Hardy in 1941. For reasons of running time, it was deleted from the final cut and only made its appearance on an album decades later. This recording uses the intro that Cole wrote for the movie. Judy soars on the high notes that Jimmy Stewart could barely reach.
Whew, I don’t know how you do two miles in the cold. And it isn’t even winter yet! LOL!
Being able to sew, you’ll save money on a coat for her plus have something that will fit her. Critter clothes can cost a pretty penny, especially for the larger ones.
When you get her all set up, will we get to see a pic of her modeling it? :-)
We’ve lost a lot in 80 years.
I will try to get a picture for you. I still have trouble posting them. Kathy has been helpful, but I have been struggling.
