THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK

COLE PORTER

BORN TO DANCE

JUDY GARLAND: “EASY TO LOVE”

MGM and Louie B. Mayer knew how to recycle musical material, and this number was scheduled to make its reappearance in “Love Finds Andy Hardy” in 1941. For reasons of running time, it was deleted from the final cut and only made its appearance on an album decades later. This recording uses the intro that Cole wrote for the movie. Judy soars on the high notes that Jimmy Stewart could barely reach.
