Ok, this one strategic maneuver has just pegged my too-much-winning needle on max overdrive. Donald Trump took a congratulatory phone call from the President of Taiwan, and now the Chinese will be apoplectic.
Those of you who have been with us for a while, will note our arguments against Chinas MFN (Most Favored Nation) trade status have continually fallen on deaf ears within DC. Why? Because they are political ears paid to remain necessarily deaf, while various Chinese national interests have taken influence over our legislative priorities on trade and commerce.

Exactly right. EVERYTHING President Trump does is going to bring the leftist presstitutes out of the woodwork.
I am so glad that President Trump spoke to the leader of Taiwan - free China. The people of that nation have been shunned by our politicians for way too long.
Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini did not count America as a credible adversary of the Third Reich because of its incoherent racial mix; they saw Americans as a "mongrel race", "half-Judaised" and "half-Negrified". [1]In an address to the Reichstag on 11 December 1941, Hitler declared war on the United States and lambasted U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt:
He [Roosevelt] was strengthened in this [political diversion] by the circle of Jews surrounding him, who, with Old Testament-like fanaticism, believe that the United States can be the instrument for preparing another Purim for the European nations that are becoming increasingly anti-Semitic. It was the Jew, in his full Satanic vileness, who rallied around this man [Roosevelt], but to whom this man also reached out.[2]Just to be clear, those who have hated us have always attacked us and lost. Why? Probably because America's enemies have always assumed that we were less than them and that we would fight the last war. Admittedly the current track record of America's wars is unimpressive. However any rational thinker has to admit that none of the wars since WW II has ever galvanized America to believe that its very survival was at stake.
Imagine what America would do to China if America's back was up against the wall? Does anyone in China's leadership really doubt that America would rally around an existential threat to its way of life and its very survival?
During WW II, after America had defeated Germany and Italy and could focus its attention on Japan, the Japanese became desperate and started attacking America with suicide fighter kamikaze pilots. In spite of relentless suicide pilot attacks America did not stop and went on to evict the Japanese out of the western Pacific. When America was contemplating invading the Japanese home islands they knew that the Japanese were planning hell on earth and death for millions before Japan would surrender. America's political leadership decided to cook two cities in Japan and everyone in them like god-damned fried eggs in order to drive home the point that Japan must either surrender or die. This resoluteness forced the mad-dog Japanese leadership to surrender.
If China thinks that it is going to intimidate and bully America then it is making the very same mistake that many other countries have made regarding America and will never make again. Make no mistake, Americans admire Chinese culture, history, and aspirations, but we will bury you if you push too far and the humiliation of the Opium Wars in the 19th century will look like a golden age.
Here is a personal anecdote to drive home the message. In 2005 I took my family to Washington D.C. to let my retired marine father-in-law get his fill of American history. After what must have been the 50th war memorial of the trip my 11-year old daughter asked me, "This must be the hundredth war memorial we have been to, how many are there?" I replied to her that "There are hundreds because the world is full of assholes."
China, please don't be another, prolapsed, gaping, asshole.

It's amazing, isn't it. Van Val MSM et al could quote Alinsky chapter & verse, but not one of these MSM cretins will read that book.
“Later, President Trump called Xi Jinping and ordered four egg rolls and wonton soup...”
Exactly, and it's not to soon to get the conversation started -- and to signal displeasure at China for its Philippine Sea adventures and military muscle flexing.
Just love it that the media is having a hissy fit!
One thing for sure, Taiwan doesn't stand a chance on it's own. If I'm not mistaken, we are bound by law to come to Taiwan's defense. Taiwan defense act of 79 I believe, unless it's been negated since then. China will have what China wants or it WILL go to war to gain it.
Thank the living Lord Obama’s leaving office.
Mike Pence is a hugely valuable right-hand man, and is going to be a wonderful President in 8 years. I am more and more impressed with him.
Bannon says 50 years, that we are going to win so much the next time we have a Rat POTUS will be in 50 years LOL
Like your word wizardry, V K. Trump is the Harlem Globetrotters to Obama's Washington Generals. The Donald is putting on a pre-Inaugural clinic on how to be President. Check out this 5 min. vid of Harlem GT's great dribbler and ballhandler: Curley "Boo" Johnson. Life is good! |
ROLOL!
Liberals LOSING it. I might post CNN’s article later so folks can have a good laugh. It took FOUR reporters to write it.
Yep. I say it all the time. I was a vocal critic of Pence on here. I was wrong. I love Mike Pence.
> More like The Art of War.
Great reference to Sun Tzu. I was just looking at it last evening, browsing in the bookstore. (of course I own a copy, too)
Not many people can pack an arena and hold people’s attention for over an hour speaking without notes. Reagan used a teleprompter for most of his speeches (he had Alzheimers).
You got it chiller. Often forgotten, a good reminder why the US of A is king of the trade hill.
There are many reasons and results of the phone call. One is that the original reason for the two China’s policies no longer exists.
There is tacit peace between China and Taiwan that permits beneficial two way trade. It is not your father’s Oldsmobile.
The Trump call first and foremost opens the blinds and permits sunlight to allow the view of the change taken place and in progress.
Also, rather than begging for retaliation, the call is retaliation. You play with artificial Islands, I’ll play with the big island, Taiwan.
The young upwardly mobile in China and Taiwan are not at war and have buried the hatchet. There is business and money at stake.

The diplomatic world is completely sclerotic. If Trump wants to inject some lubricating, rejuvenating remedy, that’s a good thing.
China knows better than most nations, what happens when your mandarins make a government brittle.
So lighten up Fan Xi.
Not "orange." It's Clairol #1600: "Honey Badger."
