Stein campaign files Pennsylvania recount suit

HARRISBURG — Former Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein on Monday continued her campaign to contest the election results in three battleground states, filing suit in Pennsylvania seeking a statewide recount.

Legal papers filed in Commonwealth Court by a lawyer for Stein’s campaign contend the Nov. 8 election was “illegal” and the results inaccurate based on research suggesting there might have been irregularities with electronic voting machines, among other evidence.

“Petitioners have grave concerns about the integrity of electronic voting machines used in their districts,” the suit stated.

Though Monday’s petition was filed by 100 Pennsylvania voters, as required by the state’s election law, it is part of Stein’s effort to challenge results in three states that were critical to deciding the presidential election.

Stein’s camp filed a recount petition last week in Wisconsin, and is expected to do so this week Michigan. Clinton lost each of the state by fewer than 100,000 votes. She lost Pennsylvania by about 71,300 votes. As of Monday evening, Stein had raised nearly $6.4 million dollars, covering the costs of recounts in both Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, and is close to her total goal of $7 million goal to cover recount costs in Michigan. But when it comes to the Keystone State, it turns out raising the money might have been the easiest step.

As Stein points out herself in a video posted on Sunday, initiating a statewide recount of Pennsylvania’s vote is “especially complicated.” Unlike Wisconsin, Stein can’t simply file a direct request for a recount, leaving just two paths for a potential statewide audit.

Stein's lawsuit would have to present evidence that election fraud was probable in Pennsylvania. Democratic Secretary of State Pedro Cortes says there's no evidence of voting irregularities during the Nov. 8 election “Absolutely not,” Cortes told reporters.

Plan? Very simple, follow the money.

Lots of lawyers milking more money out of a campiagn.
Kind of like when one gov agency sues another gov agency.

We the taxpayers are getting screwed again or still.

Did she paid for the WI recount already, or swill she do this at the last possible moment to drag everything out as long as possible ‘to strengthen democracy’?

Stein’s claims revolve around incorrect counting by tabulation machines. She believes, although produces no supporting evidence, that the machines have been “hacked”. Indeed, her petition states outright that a hand recount is necessary in order to determine whether any irregularity in counting has occurred (petition item 3 g).

Stein’s Wisconsin petition presents speculation and a hypothetical series of events that might lead to compromised election technologies, but presents no evidence that any such compromise has occurred and no evidence that any of those hypothetical events have occurred.

Stein’s Wisconsin petition recites DNC and Podesta e-mail compromises - compromises which have nothing to do with election systems of any state - as a reason for her belief. This recitation is designed to sow fear and doubt thus preying upon the public’s mind. It’s despicable.

Stein’s Wisconsin petition is a bunch of hand-wringing, is dishonest, and has no basis in fact.

do not mind having multiple primaries over several weeks but they should be coordinated.

What is needed is a common place to put together these ideas and thenwilling freezers all send them to Congress and Trump on one day.

The best part is that the Greens siphoned away enough liberal voters so Hillary lost and now she has the money to do the same in 2020, thanks to the same liberals!

All good suggestions, but wouldn’t motorizing all those statements be cumbersome and expensive?

Her basis is insane. Twice Podesta lost his smartphone (and therefore access to the noted hacked emails). Once, left behind in a rental car. I don’t think the state of PA leaves voting machines in the back of rental cars.

“Who was that guy who jousted Windmills?”

Made me chuckle. Maybe we can refer to Jill Stein as “Dawn Quixote”.

It is insane.

Podesta clicked on spam and entered his email password. What a maroon.

Has anyone checked on Robert Creamer?

He may have some thoughts on faux-republican vote tampering.

The concept seems as viable as putting paid rowdies in the crowd.

By all means, dig into the Philadelphia count. Stein will be a RAT pariah by the time this is over.

“I always worry that they will do something that requires a response by Trump, and if he doesn’t then he loses on a technicality.”

I cannot get over how stupid and incompetent some think Trump is.

Tell me, please, I insist, just how did Trump get past all those RINO’s contenders during the Republican convention, survive non-stop MSM bashing, survive the debates, and win an election if he’s that stupid? Ha? Common, please enlighten me.

Yeah, that’s what worries me. We’re not hearing a thing about what Obama has been doing for several months. It feels as though somebody is saying “look at my right hand” while the left hand is doing something I wouldn’t like.

Gotta love the media not doing its job...deliberately.

I can’t figure out what it is, but it’s been planned for weeks and has a purpose.

I disagree that its been planned for weeks. She missed important deadlines and she missed cost estimates and no one sees she has a road to success. If Hillary was involved the missed deadlines wound not have happened, the cost estimates would be more accurate and there would be a clear end game. My guess is that Hillary is involved to hide whatever steps they took to try and sway the result.

Isn't this an exercise in futility?

Doesn't a recount only recount the votes that were originally counted/gathered?

Filing suit contesting the integrity of the electronic voting machines (which I favor) is a totally separate issue and is NOT a recount.
