Stein campaign files Pennsylvania recount suit

HARRISBURG — Former Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein on Monday continued her campaign to contest the election results in three battleground states, filing suit in Pennsylvania seeking a statewide recount.

Legal papers filed in Commonwealth Court by a lawyer for Stein’s campaign contend the Nov. 8 election was “illegal” and the results inaccurate based on research suggesting there might have been irregularities with electronic voting machines, among other evidence.

“Petitioners have grave concerns about the integrity of electronic voting machines used in their districts,” the suit stated.

Though Monday’s petition was filed by 100 Pennsylvania voters, as required by the state’s election law, it is part of Stein’s effort to challenge results in three states that were critical to deciding the presidential election.

Stein’s camp filed a recount petition last week in Wisconsin, and is expected to do so this week Michigan. Clinton lost each of the state by fewer than 100,000 votes. She lost Pennsylvania by about 71,300 votes. As of Monday evening, Stein had raised nearly $6.4 million dollars, covering the costs of recounts in both Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, and is close to her total goal of $7 million goal to cover recount costs in Michigan. But when it comes to the Keystone State, it turns out raising the money might have been the easiest step.

As Stein points out herself in a video posted on Sunday, initiating a statewide recount of Pennsylvania’s vote is “especially complicated.” Unlike Wisconsin, Stein can’t simply file a direct request for a recount, leaving just two paths for a potential statewide audit.

Stein's lawsuit would have to present evidence that election fraud was probable in Pennsylvania. Democratic Secretary of State Pedro Cortes says there's no evidence of voting irregularities during the Nov. 8 election “Absolutely not,” Cortes told reporters.

I always worry that they will do something that requires a response by Trump, and if he doesn’t then he loses on a technicality.

Cause he's proven himself to be that stupid. /s

Stein - thanks - though that was probably not her intention.

I think Stein is in it to enrich herself...she a leftist after all.

One thing that Republicans just cannot seem to understand is that libs play to win at all costs. To them, the ends justifies the means.

Trump played to win. That alone distinguished him from the rest of the hapless, naive and stupid GOP. Trump has rewritten the book on how to succeed but I fear the GOP will quickly discard it after Trump leaves the scene.

Amen! That has been the Democrat M.O. since the day the ink dried on the first copies of Rules for Radicals in 1972.

It took 44 years for the Stupid Party to catch on.
And then only due to the efforts of one man.

There is no way to link a vote to a voter. How could a voting irregularity be in favor of any particular candidate?

Due to the grave concerns about election integrity,Trump should work with Congress to improve processes around federal elections. CAll It the National Vote Integrity bill.

No early voting because it would be unfair for people to vote without having heard all the arguments of the candidates.
ABsentee voting limited to the military, those hospitalized, those provide a motorized statement that they will be out of the country at the time of the election for work related reasons.
Raise the voting age back to 21.
PUrge all voting rolls and have each person reregister with proof of citizenship and residence.
CReate aNational photo ID and require for all citizens and others in the country legally.
NO vote by mail (except authorized absentee ballots) nor vote by internet.
ANy illegal, alien voting subject to eminent deportation. ANy elected official, found in violation of registering people not eligible to vote subject to stiff fines and/or jail time.

I can’t give you the specifics how they did it.. only speculating.
Suppose you are hillary and you know you are going to lose.
You can not swing the election your way via voter fraud because it would require massive fraud that would expose you.
So, you create thousands of fraudulent votes that favor Trump.
Then you call for a recount and lo and behold it appears Trump cheated.
Of course her media pals are more than willing to go along with the scheme.

My guess is that Stein is getting volcanic hate from Lefties across the spectrum. She siphoned sufficient votes from Hillary in swing states to cause her to lose. [Of course, Gary Johnson siphoned even more votes from Trump, but let’s forget that for a moment] A lot of those who voted for Stein probably felts safe doing so ‘cause they were led to believe that Hillary had it in the bag. So this is Stein’s mea culpa so the Lefties won’t lynch her on the street.

There’s a plan here. I can’t figure out what it is, but it’s been planned for weeks and has a purpose.

IMHO, the plan is to keep attention away from the WIKILEAKS -Hillary/Podesta emails and give Alefantis time to 'clean up' COMET PING PONG.

I signed on to these changes a few days back.

I also added that there should be two days of voting (First Monday and Tuesday after the first Mondy in November) with no disclosure of any of the participants during those two days until the polls close.

Also...no exit polling

As far as age 21....excepting enlisted soldiers, 18 years and older works for me.

Also, the primaries have to be made consistent for a Federal Election.

Or keep the 18 voting age, but insist that students can only register to vote in their own home district. Not on campus!

Trump is not a party to the suit. He cannot challenge on standing anyway. This is Stein vs. State of Pennsylvania.

From what I am hearing individual county election directors...many of whom are Democrats....are taking personal offense to this recount effort. They feel it is besmirching their profession.
