They probably lifted the shelter in place since it’s contained to the parking garage. I would continue to shelter in place until the situation is fully under control. Did LEO confirm the shelter has been lifted or was it sent out by the OSU twitter account? Anything can be hacked...

Someone ran over a crowd of people with the car. occurred at same time a fire alarm was pulled. Also reported it is possible there were two different scenes and this student did not see whole thing.

It seems OSU people lifted the shelter in place. I just heard the police want to reinstate the shelter in place. The police scanner is raising exactly what you indicated, wanting to know who lifted it.

Likely scenario:

Some idiot pulls the fire alarm to avoid taking a test. Another idiot is texting while driving and plows through the students running from the fire alarm. Panics, gets out of car and is shot dead by LEO.

#1 OODA Loop: Observe (find the threat) Orient (weigh options for response) Decide and finally.... Act!

If possible, move to a position of cover. Draw firearm and engage. Maintaining good cover, move with the threat and maintain contact by fire. Reload as necessary.

This response also lets LEO reinforcements engage from a flanking position to faster neutralize the threat. Hopefully they don't engage you!

Daughters not replying, Wife’s going nuts.

I assume one of a few things: 1) she’s still asleep, 2) she’s run her battery dead, 3) they shut off certain cell towers due to the incident (and yes her dorm is right there next to the area), 4) in the excitement she’s not thinking about who’s trying to get hold of her.

She doesn’t have any classes this morning nor any ever in Watts, but does go by there on occasion. We texted and called which is why I’m thinking one of the first 3 is at issue. Course the Mrs doesn’t care for cold analytical probability in times like this....

That seems a good guess, if only a guess. The reported shots were fired in close sequence, then nothing. Other reports are of a car ramming people, and a perp with a knife or machete, and mostly non-life threating injuries. So a likely scenario is a machete-wielding perp gunned down by the cops, with some students detained for precautionary reasons, because they were in the area.

Likely, however, she probably would not be thinking too much about phones if she is occupied.

Also, a statement was made about turning down your phone (don’t draw attention with ringers and so on). So, possibly she just can’t hear it, hasn’t checked. Or just doesn’t have it on.

Some students now say the bad guys looked like muzzies. Don’t know how true that is.

I believe MSM trying to hide who the perps are by cutting to regular ole news loop.
