Trump to scrap Nasa climate research in crackdown on ‘politicized science’

Donald Trump is poised to eliminate all climate change research conducted by Nasa as part of a crackdown on “politicized science”, his senior adviser on issues relating to the space agency has said.

Nasa’s Earth science division is set to be stripped of funding in favor of exploration of deep space, with the president-elect having set a goal during the campaign to explore the entire solar system by the end of the century.

This would mean the elimination of Nasa’s world-renowned research into temperature, ice, clouds and other climate phenomena. Nasa’s network of satellites provide a wealth of information on climate change, with the Earth science division’s budget set to grow to $2bn next year. By comparison, space exploration has been scaled back somewhat, with a proposed budget of $2.8bn in 2017.

Bob Walker, a senior Trump campaign adviser, said there was no need for Nasa to do what he has previously described as “politically correct environmental monitoring”.

My Dad worked on interesting stuff early on. Like the Snark missile which didn’t come out until tje fifties. He translated German documents that our spies got hold of. But ask him about Ufos? Total silence!

The last time CO2 was this high, humans didn't exist

Which is fair enough, and they're talking about temps 11 degrees F higher and seas of Al Gorean proportions... but considering the average elevations of land and how much frozen turf there is, we'd be talking about humans living in areas further north, if they did have to live. People would have to move, if temps were tied this tightly to CO2, but they most definitely would live, and might even find nicer digs.

Recklessly optimistic.

Back to the moon will take 6 years of dedication and effort. Our expertise has diminished as top STEM education has been liberally allocated to foreign nationals, as our pool of resources has been redirected to remedial political correctness.

I don’t want a victory lap around the moon. I would like to see a start in preparation for a industrial enterprise on the moon instead.

And forget about Mars until there is a 24/7/365 operations on the moon.

The MSM never looks at the failed prognostications of Al Gore. He predicted that global warming would inundate coastal cities, putting them under the sea, by 2010 or some such year that passed (without any loss of cities).

Moron Gore said in 2008 within 5 years, by 2013, coastal regions would be under water. He than bought a Santa Barbara BEACH Mansion with all the money he scammed from his zombie followers...

Shut the doors, then send in the auditors. Financial, tagged property, inventory and data. Publish the results with nothing held back for all to see. Create audit trails for everything and then bring in the new DOJ and go after the criminals. DC is not the limiting factors of the Swamp.

For the departments that are non-essential (Education, EPA, etc) do the same and if they are non-essential, close them down as well.

Then go after the IRS in a very big and public way in connection not only the Lois Lerner and her cabal, but also in the monumental waste we know is happening from sending illegals tax credits when none were paid.

Nasa’s Earth science division is set to be stripped of funding in favor of exploration of deep space, with the president-elect having set a goal during the campaign to explore the entire solar system by the end of the century.

There has been a lack of "adult supervision" of activist managers demanding results that they seek, rather than accepting scientific and sound findings. There is a core of legitimate science in the study of the atmosphere that should be continued after getting rid of the activists.

Not easy to do without stripping away all funding, and then having a remnant continue the sound science.

Excellent. Lord Monkton is going to like Donald Trump!
Monkton has the political science of global warming completely debunked.

When I get any lefty hefty whacko going at me over my pointing out the truth, I simply refer them to Monkton’s data base.

Earth is the only habitable planet in the universe.

Maybe we should chalk that one up to its being posted at a half hour past midnight, else it's gonna garner you a LOT of attention.

It gets a facepalm from me.
