Why do conservatives want to bring the riffraff into the private schools??

Look what happens when you bring illegals into nice communities.

The history is that when students get into good schools (using vouchers) they do well and do not bring down the school. The school brings them up. I can go along with truly private schools being exempt from vouchers, but students need to have the choice to select the best school that is within their travel range.

Or is this still allowing the riffraff too much leeway for you?

In all seriousness, this is one area where conservatives don’t really understand the situation. Private schools, when they are better, are better because they can pick and choose which students they want. As vouchers make it more lucrative for them to take more students, they will start taking anyone because each warm body brings in money. Pretty soon, they will be pretty much like public schools. The problem really isn’t the teachers, or the curriculum, or how much money you spend. It’s the students, and the home culture they bring into the schools. If they have no respect for authority, no work ethic, and/or low intelligence, it doesn’t much matter who is teaching them or how they are teaching. The few hours a week you get with that kid in no way undoes what they have absorbed for years at home.

because we’re sick and tired of subsidizing the public indoctrination system.

It should be far easier to create a First Private School Of Riffraff.

You're correct. Liberals have destroyed public education. It started in the late 1960s with busing. What is needed is to go back to effective local schooling with high expectations for discipline and completion of curriculum. The federal government should not be involved in them, either with financing or determining what is taught.

Enabling children to leave their local schools for public education takes away the most motivated students and parents from their local schools and foists them on communities where they won't be as involved.

Not all charter schools are bad in this regard. There are cases where they've opened in fragile communities and offered a positive option. The problem is that they often become money sucking machines getting way too much financing, at the expense of public schools.

Riffraff into private schools!! I know what you mean. My private high school wanted to be a small school football powerhouse, but it ruined the school. The school almost bankrupt itself. The school’s football dream cause problems with the area, due to shoplifting and rapes. The school went from 95% white to 60% Blacks. I am not giving them $$$ because they are not for students with learning disabilities (I was there for Speech therapy).
