At first I groaned because she is a Romney, NWO tool. But on second thought, think of all the happy South Carolinians who are finally free of this wretched b*tch. (Unless Miss Lindsey decides to run for Governor ~ Eww!)

The UN Ambassador is a do nothing position. So, it gets her out of S. Carolina, and after she is out, DJT can withdraw from the U.N., leaving her SOL. If it works out like that, great. Otherwise, he’s just acting like Bush, and reaching across the aisle to the Globals. We’ll find out soon enough, I suppose.

Get the US out of the UN and get the UN out of the US.

Not a bad deal. An olive branch to the establishment for a fairly useless position. Thank God it wasn’t SoS.

Is this the same Nikki Haley who bashed Trump prior to his election, saying only days before that she hopes every day he doesn’t say something stupid?

First mistake.
Not terrible, but I hope he doesn’t make many more.

I believe the business term is ‘kicked upstairs.’ Promoted to a position that is a: harmless and b: out of the way.

This assignment is inconsequential since we shouldn’t even be a part of the UN.

This could mean Romney will NOT be SOS. He has now proven his willingness to appt a former #neverTrumper and is free to turn Milt down without people believing Trump was vindictive in any way.
All the rumors that Milt is top contender are planted by Trump IMHO. Think Lucy and football.

Nikki Haley would be added onto this list:

Year Ambassador
1946 Edward R. Stettinius, Jr.
1946–1947 Herschel V. Johnson (acting)
1947–1953 Warren R. Austin
1953–1960 Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr.
1960–1961 James J. Wadsworth
1961–1965 Adlai E. Stevenson
1965–1968 Arthur J. Goldberg
1968 George W. Ball
1968–1969 James Russell Wiggins
1969–1971 Charles W. Yost
1971–1973 George H. W. Bush
1973–1975 John A. Scali
1975–1976 Daniel P. Moynihan
1976–1977 William W. Scranton
1977–1979 Andrew Young
1979–1981 Donald McHenry
1981–1985 Jeane J. Kirkpatrick
1985–1989 Vernon A. Walters
1989–1992 Thomas J. Pickering
1992–1993 Edward J. Perkins
1993–1996 Madeleine K. Albright
1997–1998 Bill Richardson
1998–1999 A. Peter Burleigh (acting)
1999–2001 Richard Holbrooke
2001 James B. Cunningham (acting)
2001–2004 John D. Negroponte
2004–2005 John Danforth
2005–2006 John Bolton
2007–2009 Zalmay Khalilzad
2009–2013 Susan Rice
2013– Samantha Power

For a position nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate, it seems singularly unimpressive. There are some impressive intellectuals with great minds, but that’s just about it. Other than 1971–1973 George H. W. Bush, none of them have gone on to a significantly higher role in government.

These Globalist Republicans he empowering will succeed Trump one day, and undo most of what he did- just like Bush undercut Reagan.

Foolish strategy by DJT imo.

If true, I don’t know if it’ll work out or not. I guess “work out” means different things to different people.

For myself, I’m 100% opposed to Trump offering ANY position to ANYone who stood in his way during the campaign. The poor man and his family went through hell to win and Haley, et al., made it more difficult. Screw them!

Even it it’s a relative minor position, he has so many loyal supporters to choose from. Every NeverTrumper, and every nay-sayer should be treated like doggie doo on the bottom of his shoe.
