A top aide to President-elect Donald Trump is dismissing questions about Trump's tweeting, asking why a network news anchor would care.
"Why take it up? Why take up 'SNL'? No president does that. Why waste time? Why distract?" CNN's Chris Cuomo asked Kellyanne Conway Monday morning.
"Why do you care?" Conway replied in the contentious interview.
Trump over the weekend tweeted criticisms of "Saturday Night Live" and repeatedly called on the "Hamilton" cast to apologize to Mike Pence for comments targeted at the vice president-elect.
"Who's to say he can't do that? Make a comment — spend five minutes sending a tweet, making a comment," Conway said on Monday.
She then accused Cuomo of assigning "wrongdoing" and "malice" where it doesn't exist.
"I think we should all learn from the election that this doesn't fly with the voters," she added.
Conway said CNN is "focusing on divisions" by bringing up Trump's tweeting.
"This network and other people will always be focused on divisions. How about accepting the election results, Chris, and letting him form a government?"
"He is a leader and takes the counsel of many people, and that's exactly what he's doing."
Cuomo shot back: "And a leader should also have thick skin."
Conway continued to defend Trump's Twitter use as a way to reach his "25 million followers."
"It's a great way for him to take his message directly to the people," she said.
"Sometimes he's trying to cut through the nonsense of people telling Americans what's important to them."

None of the left has thick skin or a sense of humor. The media during this election cycle was more heinous than ever and that’s saying a lot. Some were even getting TEARS in their eyes when they realized DT had won election night. How about refusing to call FLA or WIS, and PA when he was ahead tens of thousands of votes in each state with over 98% of precincts reporting & only republican counties left in each state. They all were pretending it was too close to call because they didn’t get permission to call it from camp Hildabeast.
They’re utterly disgusting and a sham. And #!*#$ them if they can’t handle some criticism. The liars.
Also, why aren’t we seeing CNN report why HRC didn’t come out to concede to all those losers at Javits Center? We all knew exactly what was up the minute Pedesto came out, and then within 10 hot minutes there was word she called DT to concede. We all knew she had a meltdown and was in no shape or mind to face TV and her crowd. Yet they’re all still trying to keep the story of her psychotic meltdown under wraps.
We were told DT did not have the temperament or sense to be able to handle being the President and those gaggle of liars and frauds all know how HRC acts behind the scenes and how she was election night, but NOT A PEEP from any of them.
That is one example out of thousands over the last 18 months.
CNN is more concerned about President-Elect Trumps tweets, than they ever were about the atrocities they knew Saddam Hussein was committing. For 10 years they suppressed stories about murder, torture, and planned assassinations, just to keep their office in Baghdad.
No disagreement with any of that post.
Instead of the message getting twisted and filtered by a CNN hack. When are those CNN "reporters" going to get a tinkle up their leg reporting about Trump? Why should Trump care about CNN? (He doesn't, and won't.)
And that's the problem the media has with Trump's tweeting; he bypasses their liberal filter.

And he makes them irrelevant, which to many of them is the worst thing about a Trump Presidency.
By the time the media reports on a Trump tweet, it’s old news.
Leslie Stahl chided Trump on 60 Minutes for Twitter. "It's a modern form of communication" he responded. According to news reports, 60 Minutes saw a 38% increase in its viewership for that interview with Trump. The problem for CBS, CNN, and all the other MSM outlets is that even with that bump, CBS was reaching little more than 1/2 of the 28,000,000 followers that Trump reaches with every Tweet. No wonder they want him to stop.
So cnn idiots are concerned they are being bypassed and becoming even more irelevent. I am not sure they could be more irrelevent.

It also makes them stay up all night.
And then there's the outgoing president, who takes time to personally insult police officers and uses his position of power to lecture those that don't vote his way.
Trunp should start his own Twitter alternative for he and those who are getting banned from Twitter. They’ll have to use it.
Trump has so far put one hell of a team together. Amazing what happens when a doer is put in charge.
In the background it has been reported that the lag time in calling it for Trump involved a real time hack, a phone call, and planes en route to bomb the hackers.
Because it helps to inoculate President elect Trump. If SNL decreases their attack skits Donald Trump's tweet has been effective. If SNL steps up their attacks they further prove his point and a lot of people will say you know what D.T. was right they are over the top with their attacks. If they change to more light hearted poking fun at D.T. then he wins because it will make him more popular and keep him in the public eye even more.
The other problem the press is having is that D.T. follows a Hollywood maxim that any publicity is good publicity. Just think a one line tweet nets Kelly Ann Conway a segment on CNN. D.T. is a 10th degree black belt in Media Judo. No matter how hard they attack he is able to use their own force against them.
