The US vice-president elect, Mike Pence, was booed by a theater audience when he attended the hit hip-hop musical Hamilton in New York on Friday night and then had a message about protecting diversity delivered to him from the stage after the curtain call.
On Saturday, President-elect Donald Trump accused theatre-goers of having harassed Pence, writing on Twitter: Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen!
He also demanded an apology: The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!

But I'll give him a pass on this one, since he's publicly defending his own VP here.
has over 10k tweets right now
#BoycottHamilton is trending on Twitter.
I think you will be safe at Nutcracker and probably entranced as well. Have you seen the Ballet Trocadero? They are back at the Joyce Theatre in Dec.
It's not being thin skinned to point out the malfeasance of others. If he was making specious claims like they do, then it would be acting a bit thin skinned and loony.
Its no way sold out even this month. I just went looking for seats, before I wised up and there are plenty in the first 20 rows starting in February 2017.
Oh, don’t kid yourself. CNN was all over the settlement this morning. They dragged up every clip when he said he’d never settled, called him a liar and now guilty as sin because he settled. They followed up that all the other law suits he has pending should go after him for more because he caves. Not one opinion that he may have settled to get them to go away so he could concentrate on what’s important to the country.
The management of the New York, Broadway Theater show, “HAMILTON” have just insulted every “rust-belt” American that lives in Indiania, Illinois, Michigan, West Virginia, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kentucky, Kansa, Iowa, Pennslyvania, etc. The “Hamilton” show management better be out on that stage this evening, publicly apoligizing to VP, Mike Pence for the boos and the lecture from tha that low life form of humanity called an actor (he sould be fired), last night!!! These “no class” low life “Broadway vermin” should burn in hell for all eternity!!! What outright, obvious, buffoons these idiots are!!!
Can tickets be returned?
Take away funding for the arts and give it towards rebuilding the inner cities.
You’re obviously not a New Yorker. To refuse to go see a friend in a show is like refusing to watch someone blow up Bloomingdale’s.
“Part of me wants Trump to shut up and stop acting to thin-skinned.”
You might want to replace that part, because it’s defective.
Standing up for one of your loyal people, the future vice president is not being “thinned skinned.” For too many years this kind of drivel has been hammered into our national psyche that fighting back is a bad thing.
Trump has proved over & again that notion is pure horseshite.
Nope, only resold on secondary markets. But that doesn’t mean folks can’t make it uncomfortable by barraging Ticketmaster.
SHUT UP AND SING AND DANCE, ya trained apes! ;)
how much a ticket in the first 20 rows..which appears where Pence was sitting
Cool that he was in your audience!
“I wonder if the audience cheers when Burr kills Hamilton.”
Great! Now you ruined the whole thing for me! *SMIRK*
When white guys dress up as black guys there is a incredibly huge political reaction and charges of cultural appropriation.
Hamilton is a play where black guys dress up as white guys, yet we don’t hear a single peep. Indeed strangely enough the rich, uniformly white New York City Elite seem to be somehow energized by it, rejuvenated by it.
I personally am not offended, though I do find it a little strange, but I can’t help but notice the double standard.
Or by just not going. When the theater is half-empty it could send a message...
