United States Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions is against legal marijuana and once said good people dont smoke marijuana.
What does that mean for Washington State, where voters legalized marijuana?

I cordially disagree. Federal “legalization” assumes that the Federal government has authority to make it illegal in the first place. It has no such power. That power belongs to the States, respectively, or to The People.
Gen. 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
good people dont smoke marijuana.
He’s actually quite right. I’ve been around enough heavy users to see the destruction they bring.
Not in this state.
More lawless violent Clinton/Obama supporters.
Whoop, please disregard #25
I stand corrected. However how as a practical matter do you get the law off the books without effectively legalizing it?
Well, you are wrong Jeff. I know plenty of good people who smoke that nasty stuff and they run multi-million and billion dollar companies.
Not my thing but, then again, many people feel the same way you do about scotch or red wine, which I’m sure your lips have occasion to taste.
take the weed out of prohibition, end violent crime and pollution of our forests.
Regulate it and tax it.
Give cops something else to do...
Didn’t he proclaim that no one needed more than 640K?
I resemble that remark...
In fact most of the things you shouldn't do aren't illegal (and shouldn't be.)
Good conservatives don't cede a single iota of power to the Government that it doesn't Constitutionally own. It's not a "libertarian" issue. Read the Constitution, and put your finger on one place where it says who gets to regulate drugs.
If your finger doesn't land on the Tenth Amendment, you're not a conservative.
Did Washington vote Trump?
Further proof that good people are in the minority in Washington.
Nothing, Trump and Sessions aren't going to go after pot smokers or dealers in WA state (as long as the state keeps the stuff from going to children or over state lines, according to article).
They will let WA state stew in its own toxic cloud. It's bad in Seattle now, homeless burn-outs all over the place.
Like Gov Hickenlooper in Colorado, maybe WA will realize that legalization was a mistake. But no way Trump is going to force the issue. The state will have to come to terms with it on their own.
Trump has said that he believes in state’s rights. Let’s hope he sticks to that.
A repeal should be phrased in a way that makes clear that the Federal government shouldn’t have arrogated such power to itself to begin with, or it should be struck down by the Federal Courts with a Tenth Amendment justification.
Ouch. Might have offended a few FReepers.
Guess I should kill the rest of that bottle a Wild Turkey tonight and toast Good.
One does not have to advocate drug use to be against Federal laws prohibiting it.
its a state issue. I’m against mj being illegal under Federal law and against it being legal under VA law.
The case the Supremes relied on to uphold federal marijuana regulation was a New Deal Era case where the Supreme Court ruled the government could tell a farmer that he could not grow wheat on his own land for his own personal consumption because that was somehow “interstate commerce.” Ridiculous.
You mean Mr. MSN?
Let’s poison the world with Vaccines so Melinda and I can stroke ourselves?
THAT Bill Gates??
I give out Mosquito nets instead of DDT?
And yes, I hate Monsanto.
But this arrogant pustule on the butt of America has to GO.
“Ive been around enough heavy users to see the destruction they bring.”
I’ve been around a lot of heavy cannabis users who work hard, are married with kids & lead a very happy life.
