President-elect Donald J. Trump is picking up the pace with his cabinet and top White House staff choices, and despite the fervent wishes of some Democrats that views expressed during the campaign would be moderated after the election, the new administrations team is maintaining a decidedly conservative bent. Up next, secretary of defense?
James N. Mattis, a retired Marine Corps general, will meet the president-elect at Mr. Trumps New Jersey country club on Saturday to discuss the post of defense secretary, according to two people close to the transition team.
Conservatives this spring had wooed General Mattis to run for president as an independent as they sought an alternative to Mr. Trump. While he was receptive to the idea, he ultimately decided against running. The thoughtfulness and patriotism and for that matter, the modesty Jim showed as he reflected on this decision make me more convinced than ever that he would have made a truly admirable president, and also a good candidate, William Kristol, the editor of the conservative Weekly Standard, wrote at the time.
General Mattis, 66, is widely respected in the military community and could bring with him a top-notch staff of civilian experts. He was the head of the United States Central Command, which oversees all military operations in the Middle East, from 2010 to 2013 but crossed swords with President Obama over his push for a more aggressive presence in the Persian Gulf.

Is that somehow immoderate? Did the libs want a retired grocer?
Unlike faux conservatives like the Bushs, Trump actually believed what he ran on. When is the last time that a Democrat President moderated after winning? Just like the Republicans, they move left after the election.
Let's get going Trump, I want to see the NY Times run out of ink over all of the things that you are doing. The more flack they throw your way, the more I'm assured that you are doing exactly the right things.
Oh noes.....concern trolls from the Fake News site are concerned
They vote for Democrats that they know are anti-American, even though the candidates campaigns in front of the American flag.
I did not see a similar push for moderation from the Slimes when Barry was elected.
Excellent!
Trump has hit the ground running and is already kicking ass left and right.
I’m a happy man.
Drain the Swamp
This means that Trump is going to keep his campaign promises.
President-elect Donald J. Trump is picking up the pace with his cabinet and top White House staff choices...
Just the other day, the MSM told us the Trump transition team was in disarray.
It wouldn't diminish media whining.
Yahoo! is reporting "8 Terrifying Facts About Jeff Sessions, Our New Attorney General." The first "terrifying fact":
1. He was the first sitting U.S. senator to support Trump.
I didn't bother looking at the second one. ;-)
But, not one of them said, “We’ll be ready to rule from day one”. That was a direct quote from the current administration.
“....Democrats’ wishes that Trump would moderate his tone once the campaign was past...”
Question: How much have the ‘rats moderated THEIR tone since November 8th?
‘OBJECTified: Donald Trump’: An Exclusive & Revealing Interview with the President-Elect
Tune in Friday at 10:00pm ET on Fox News Channel as we bring you a revealing hour-long interview with President-elect Donald J. Trump.
In OBJECTified: Donald Trump, TMZ’s Harvey Levin explores keepsakes in the billionaire’s Trump Tower suite to reveal new details about the soon-to-be 45th President. Mr. Trump tells the story behind photos, letters, trophies and other cherished mementos acquired throughout his life.
Levin said on “Fox & Friends” (video below) that there were many things that he learned about Trump in the interview that left him “stunned.”
The exclusive interview, which took place in September, traces Trump’s life from a 3-year-old boy living in Queens, to a family tragedy that still resonates with him, to an unfulfilled dream of becoming a Hollywood movie mogul. Plus, he’ll look back on the advice from a former President that planted the seeds for his successful 2016 campaign.
Oh, we want moderation now. Got it.
I haven't had this much fun since Reagan...
To some people.
So far Trump has been exactly what he said he would be.
I know Trump is going to do things that I dislike at some point. And I will send him a letter pouring out the wrath of white hot teddy bear fury on his head. In his case I have a faint hope he might actually read it. And might even consider I have a point. Although the last may be a bridge to far.
I'm just not used to so much winning! Seems everyday, we win something else.
