Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is under consideration for attorney general in Donald Trump's administration, a Bloomberg News reporter tweeted Tuesday night.
Cruz was seen earlier in the day visiting Trump Tower in Manhattan, where Trump's transition team is talking about Cabinet level positions.
Trump himself tweeted about 30 minutes after Jacobs announced her "scoop," saying he alone knows who will get job offers.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Trump supporter after dropping out of the race, said a Cruz hire would be "a big shock for me," considering the acrimony between Trump and Cruz during the GOP nomination process.
"We all ran together, but there was never a group hug that involved Ted Cruz," Huckabee said on Fox News Channel's "The Kelly File."
"I would be very surprised if that was the case," he said, but admitted, "This election has been made of surprises."
Cruz is not well-liked by his Senate colleagues on either side of the aisle, so if he is nominated, he might get 100 percent confirmation support, Huckabee said, "because he wouldn't be in the Senate, and they haven't been that happy with him being there."

I suspect you’re right. I want an AG with six inch fangs, to corral the Left once and for all.

Lyin’ Ted’s “Pathway Amnesty” plan supported Heidi’s masters at Goldman-Sucks should disqualify him from AG. In addition, his voting support of TPA/TPP indicates he’s a traitor to America.
Add the fact he has never submitted documents to prove he’s a US citizen should keep him out of any US Govt position.
Not just no.
HELL NO!!!!!

bad idea.
Cruz isn’t good with people. He would do better on the Supreme court dealing with law.
No AG for Cruz. Supreme court would best showcase his talents.

I think Giuliani would be a better AG but I don’t know if he wants the job. If you want to see Hitlery prosecuted, he’s the guy.

If you want to know how well Ted Cruz would do as AG, all you have to do is look back at Ashcroft. There’s no way Ted Cruz could be an effective Attorney General.
Cruz is the ghost of Ashcroft.

Dingy Harry stroking out would be a nice mint on the Trump pillow.

For AG, I would prefer Kris Kobach, currently Kansas Secretary of State. Look him up; he would be terrific all-around.

The problem with appointing an AG to SCOTUS is that he would have to recuse himself from many important cases that come up during his first couple of years on the Court. If I were Trump, I’d appoint Cruz to SCOTUS now, let Gov. Abbott replace him in the Senate with another conservative, and name someone as AG that I wouldn’t be thinking of naming to SCOTUS in the foreseeable future.

Who would replace him in the Senate? Someone who tells the truth. Someone whose father didn't kill Kennedy.

“As we all know, this is Trumps choice to make. However, I think Cruz would be a horrible choice for AG. Hes a liar, a cheat and I think he is mentally ill.”
My thoughts exactly. He had EVERY chance to redeem himself, and failed repeatedly. How could he ever be trusted after his disgusting behavior at the convention?

I will say again..Christie isn’t getting a big position. He put Jared’s dad in federal prison.

“Keep your friends close, your enemies closer.”
Better idea. Keep your friends close, get rid of your enemies.
I would have no problem with Trump having Cruz as AG if he fires him a week later just to get the creep out of Washington.
To: AuH2ORepublican
Why would you want someone who acts deranged on the Supreme Court? I sure don’t.
To: SeekAndFind; 2ndDivisionVet
Ted Cruz has not spoken out, if I recall, on the necessity to investigate and prosecute the Clinton’s. In other words, he has not shown prejudice in the Clinton case.
That is a major problem with selecting Giuliani to be the Attorney General. Giuliani has frequently spoken out on a Clionton prosecution and on their guilt.
A Cruz appointment would tell me that Trump intends that investigation to go forward, and that he intends to heal the divide between his wing and the Cruz wing.
Ted Cruz is brilliant, Scotus trained at the feet of Rehnquist, and fully identified as capable when Solicitor General of Texas.
I would fully support Cruz as AG.

“Making peace” with a nevertrumper like Cruz,
oh I know finally jumped on the caboos of the Trump train,
doesn’t mean he gets a upper level position in the Trump Admin.
Just the fact it took months? to passively get behind Trump tells me he is not as savvy as some would have us believe.
