A California-based network security company has accepted the resignation of their CEO of he threatened to kill President-elect Donald Trump. Matt Harrigan, the now FORMER CEO of PacketSled, went on a Facebook tirade on election night. The series of angry messages were part of a private thread that someone exposed through a series of screenshots. In those posts, Harrigan made quite clear the intent to kill Mr. Trump:
Im going to kill the president. Elect. Bring it secret service. Getting a sniper rifle and perching myself where it counts. Find a bedroom in the whitehouse that suits you motherf***er. Ill find you. In no uncertain terms, f*** you America. Seriously. F*** off.
And just in case Harrigan hoped to find peace in his community of San Diego, Harrigan stuck the last dagger in the heart of that community with his Ron Burgandy-like quip "Really San Deigo? Trump? Go F*** yourself San Diego."

“The response of PacketSled was perfect and appropriate. Well done!”
Did you know he was the founder?
'My life goal is to assassinate Trump': Ohio man is first to be charged for sending threatening
See ya at Burger King guy....you are now toxic.
The Party of Tolerance, doing what it does best.
Ok Folks,
That’s one...
Many more to go.
..did not know that.
Translation is an inexact art.
“A wise move and hopefully they are being honest in their posted statement.
As FOUNDER (hardly ever reported), I bet he still owns 50+% of the stock.”
With Angel and especially Series A, depending on the valuation, he may be well south of 50%. He will still be the largest individual shareholder though.
Well since Trump is now president elect, his board was probably told there AREN'T any more government contracts.
Even his resignation might not save their butts. One thing's absolutely sure - the company has a GAO audit coming that they will remember for the rest of their lives...
“I dont understand how the CEO, founder and owner can fire himself. This looks like cover to protect his government contracts.”
He was not the owner of the company. He was a founder with investors. Investors who probably owned the majority of the company. From what I can tell, there are at least 2 other Board members and combined control most of the equity. Founders and CEOs are bounced from startups all the time - but generally not for something like this.
I see no evidence of government contracts (at the Federal level) for PacketSled, there was a photo of him and Former Director of the CIA, James Woolsey at a conference. But, that may be the closest he’s gotten to the CIA. Plus the City of San Diego announced they were using their product.
But, during the PR for the Series A - they hinted at customers being in healthcare, government, financial, etc. Usually, it means someone within these organizations evaluated the technology during stealth.
He’s married with 2 kids. Likes to surf, 42 years old. Should’ve known better but was probably pissed she didn’t win, lol. I think he gets high a lot, according to one of his FB friend’s comments. He’s had a couple of successful companies that he sold prior to starting this one (according to linked in) so I don’t think he’s gonna starve.
This case has a man in a position of authority, a CEO of a company (not just a "dumb kid") making an overt threat, explicitly giving a weapon type and place. And challenging the Secret Service as well.
“As FOUNDER (hardly ever reported), I bet he still owns 50+% of the stock.”
He also bragged about his connections to the CIA. Maybe he thought he was “bulletproof”
Absolutely, and they should make an example of him and publicize it. This is about the 3rd time I read about someone making a threat against Trump. Enough, the message has to get out there - anyone who does this WILL go to jail!
“He also bragged about his connections to the CIA. Maybe he thought he was bulletproof”
Yeah, a photo with the former director of the CIA is apparently his connection to the CIA. That is stretching the connection a bit.
So long loser
That’s him not me showing he is chummy with a spook and thereby a “real important guy”. A lot of good it did him.
“Thats him not me showing he is chummy with a spook and thereby a real important guy. A lot of good it did him.”
Heck, you and I probably both have photos taken with important people but it doesn’t make us important. :)
The guy who made the threat has some...interesting connections (as in, Turkish). *PING*
