During her bid for vice president in 2008, that was Sarah Palin's crowd-pleasing chant promoting her energy policy. Now the pithy catchphrase – and the former Alaska governor herself – could make a comeback.
News reports say Palin is on President-elect Donald Trump's short list to head the Interior Department. As secretary of the interior, she'd be in charge of overseeing oil drilling, uranium mining and other energy extraction on 500 million acres of public land, including iconic national parks like the Grand Canyon.
The pro-mining policies Trump and Palin could be expected to bring to Interior would mean EWG and other public land advocates would have to resume a fight we thought the Obama administration settled in 2012.
Under President George W. Bush, the Interior Department tried to open up uranium mines near the south rim of the Canyon. It was a scheme that even The Arizona Republic, once a champion of the so-called “Wise Use” movement, denounced.
If Trump does make moves to open up uranium mining around the Grand Canyon, Palin wouldn't stand in his way, judging from her quip in 2011 about opening the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling: “If a caribou needs to be sacrificed for the sake of energy independence, I say, ‘Mr. Caribou, maybe you need to take one for the team.’”
In a few months, she could be leading the team.

I’d think that previously agreeing to be Veep was an indicator that she is willing to move to DC for 4 (at least) years.

If POTUS combines several agencies and departments within existing cabinets, those “budgets” should go toward the national debt.
Yes, I agree that simpler is better. We should return, as much as possible, to the original Departments proscribed by the Constitution. Employees will be affected but the founders did not create a governing body so that individuals can have a paycheck.
In the same manner, DJT did not create a real estate empire to distribute jobs. MARKET-driven government is what we need to revive the economy

IF so, Trump & Palin need to spend money & manpower in cleaning the pot farms out of our National Forests. In the Tahoe National Forest in Nevada County, Calif, the pot growers have completely taken over the land. Many people used to ride horseback all around there, and since 1990 or so, that is no longer possible. You WILL get shot at. I used to live in Nevada County & it could get really scary when riding in the mountains.
Palin needs to take the SWAT TEAM tactics used on the Bundy ranch & apply it to cleaning out the drug cartel operations that exist in the western forests. It is so prevalent that many county Sheriff’s won’t even try to send deputies into firing range against the cartels.
When our border was more difficult to cross with drugs like Marijuana, the cartels just sent workers across & told them to set up operations in the USA National Forests & they only brought seeds across the border. So simple that the Clinton administration never caught on. NOw, those cartels are well established. Ask the locals...they know how bad it is.
Sarah can clean up the forests & the drug operations there & then she can use those SWAT TEAMS to do other thing than bother Bundy.
The state lands MUST be returned to the control of the states. The constant taking of land away from the American people must be curtailed. We have had millions of acres put off limits by Obama. He has never been to these locations, but he has declared them Monuments....
Congress should be in control of this process-—NOT a single person with a pen.

The drug cartels do NOT recognize the sanctity of these designations. They operate freely there, growing massive amounts of Marijuana & fouling streams.
President Trump needs to restore the lawsuit between the Feds & Wayne Hage/Wayne Hage Estate. Federal judge told Feds to pay over $14 million + interest to Hage years ago & Feds have stonewalled about this verdict.
Hage family needs to get justice, since Fed employees cut his fences & damaged his water supply to his livestock.
That money needs to be paid to the family ASAP.
