Gov. Christie has been replaced by vice president-elect Mike Pence as the chairman of Donald Trumps White House transition team.
Christie is now a vice chairman of the team, along with former House speaker Newt Gingrich, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, former Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson, and U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions, the team announced Friday.
In addition to the governors replacement, two Christie confidants who were on the transition team -- Rich Bagger, a former Christie chief of staff, and Bill Palatucci, a longtime adviser -- will return to the private sector. Bagger and Palatucci will still remain as advisers to the team.
The team which also announced an executive committee that includes three of Trumps children and his son-in-law, among others will build on the initial work done under the leadership of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to help build a transformative government ready to lead from day one, Trump said in a statement.
The team didnt disclose why Pence replaced Christie.

So do I. Pence was 100% loyal as VP candidate, even when the coup attempt that would've benefitted him was afoot. He's been in the HOR; Christie hasn't been inside DC politics. Add to that, Trump's a realist and a true patriot. It seems that Trump might be setting up a structure that Pence is very comfortable with. It doesn't matter how healthy Trump is. That's the prudent thing to do when a 70-year old is taking on the responsibility of being President for four years.
He’s a gun grabber and should be marginalized.
“Chris Christie is a real asset among great assets. But where to put him?”
White House Pastry Chef? /ducking;)
Yup. Trump made a good choice with Pence.
Where to put Christie? Gov of DEMOCRATIC New Jersey...keep him the hell away from Trump and DC. Arm and arm walking with Obama on the beach?...Never could be trusted. A closet RINO. This is why he is OUT.
Makes sense as Pence is no longer campaigning and is the VP-Elect.
Did Christie suggest Corker?
Bridgegate was the best thing to ever happen to Conservatives.
Pence now being in charge of the transition shows me that conservatives have won the initial power struggle within Trump world.
Christie is also against marijuana legalization. I don’t use marijuana, but that train has left the station and it will anger many people, including conservatives.
Praise God. Mike Pence is a godly man. Praying for the Holy Spirit to guide this transition. All human beings are imperfect. Every worldly policy is imperfect and our new leaders will not be able to please 100% of their supporters all the time. Compromises will be made. All kinds of deals. This nation must put on a united front. Credit is due to the Democrats and establishment R’s who at least act gracious.
May God give discernment to Mike Pence. And protect each and every member of Trump’s family and cabinet and any person who threatens them be exposed and brought to justice before any harm can be done.
” But where to put him?”
A trash compacter?/sarc
Christy creame is a anti-gun liberal puke, just like Ghouliani.
Transition team needed to get bigger now that they KNOW there will BE a transition!
And I think it’s GREAT that Trump will take advantage of his VP, since he picked such a competent one. Would be ridiculous to try to turn Pence into a wallflower, and I can guarantee you that Trump had no VP-level staffers in his business that were purely ornamental.
So, putting your VP to work in a meaningful manner is yet ANOTHER break with “tradition” from Trump. We will be seeing many more “traditions” tossed into the trash bin of history.
Wow, I’m amazed at how many people seem to have forgotten what a traitor Christie has been.
He deserves NOTHING.
Again
Who’s gun did he grab?
Christie was filling the swamp....not draining it.
He pardoned the woman from Philly who accidentally brought her gun into NJ; he is NOT a gun-grabber.
Christy was filling the swamp....not draining it.
Christie replaced by Pence? You got a problem with that?
I know it's New Jersey, but compared to the Democrat alternatives, he's been a *great* governor.
I hope Trump keeps him on. Maybe as press secretary -- that would annoy the heck out of the MSM!
