President Obama has described Donald Trump as ignorant, dangerous and unfit to lead the nation, but hell ask the Republican president-elect Thursday not to wipe out his cherished, legacy-making executive actions on everything from the Iranian nuclear deal to Obamacare.
In a meeting at the White House to prepare Mr. Trump for taking office, Mr. Obama will try to persuade the president-elect to honor what his aides call a tradition of preserving executive actions implemented by the departing chief executive.
There is a tradition, particularly with regard to executive agreements of successive presidents preserving some element of continuity, said White House press secretary Josh Earnest. I dont know whether or not that will apply in this case. But as a part of this effective, smooth transition, President Obama

I guess BO missed the whole point of the election.
use his own line on him..... Elections have consequences..... I won....
Start with re-assigning every federal officer assigned with dealing with copyright violations for Hollywood, to instead hunting down vote fraud. Play their on game, Refuse to assign resources to anything which benefits any Leftist.
He can ask all he wants, but he needs to remember how he acte when they took over bush, and all the bUsh bashing for years.
Course BUsh stayed silent like the typical cowardly GOP establishment.
/s I doubt that Trump has any ambition of observing any kind of good ole boys traditions.
Clinton was caught saying how you should have one position in public,m and another in private.
When I heard smooth transition, and then saw the protest which were organised around the country, then I knew she was up to her tricks again.
Expect these next 4 years to be full of fake outrage, and if this is a threat to Trump about doing an investigation and jailing some of these corrupt liberals, then bring it on I say.
I recommend the Alexander gambit
Lamar Alexander was elected Governor of Tennessee. He had a judge swear him in in a private ceremony. He appeared at the governor’s mansion weeks ahead of the normal turnover schedule and as actual governor, ordered ex Governor Ray Blanton off the premises and out of the office.
Blanton was a serious corrupt crook who sold pardons and had a list a mile long to be pardoned in his final days. Since he was no longer governor, the pardons and the payoff never came to be. As icing on the cake, his lawyer in the process never got paid.
I think that’s exactly right. The Left uses government to achieve certain ends for themselves. Copyright protection is a good example. And it’s a fairly valid use of government. But the administration should make it clear: If the Left causes trouble over HERE, then copyright violations will be ignored over THERE. So, work with us on what WE care about, we will do what YOU care about.
This is bigger than Hollywood and copyrights, it works across the board. You want clean water? Okay, what will you do for me? You want education funding? What do you offer in return?
It’s time for hardball and if the Left is “difficult” then it’s time for the Michael Corleone approach: “My offer is this: Nothing.”
But isn't fully a third of all government employees retiring early or quitting? Can you imagine the good that would do?
especially his first one, i bet
the one that sealed all his records
Oh that could be fun!!!!!!!!
I imagine the offer will be...
“Leave my EO’s in place, and I won’t pardon Hillary.”
Yep
There is something getting lost in the shuffle here...
The purpose of an EO in the first place.
This is an executive memo on policy within the executive - the pres ordering how the executive operates.
That it was stretched and childerated (the infantile version of adulterated) by the Won has no bearing here.
Trump should now enter as the adult, and start using EOs as they were intended. Not as what the president can extra-legislatively do when the legislature won’t, but structure the executive as he sees fit.
Part of this change in operation - from using EO’s as legislation to using them properly, is removing the prior.
Trump can keep any EO that fits the mold of where the Executive should currently operate, but scrap every one that does not.
Hey Barry, “if you like your executive oders, you can keep your executive orders, we’re not gonna take that from you.”
I'm dishonorable enough to accept that offer. No pardon for Hillary? That would be awesome. And then, on January 21 I'd go ahead and remove all of his damn EOs. Screw him.
Trump needs to tell him to pound sand up his Muslim a$$ and get the hell out of the People's house and take his ghetto trash family with him.
No deals with a traitor
Trump should say very little in terms of commitment.”
Yes.
That’s exactly right. No time for talk. Just do.
Then toss out something spicy about The Wall to the media, let them go all hysterical and get pre occupied. Meanwhile just continue to work.
(And get to The Wall eventually...when the timing is perfect).
These fools hold absolutely no cards.... Leonidas (the American people) are KICKING THEM DOWN THE WELL!
No no no trump will preserve some element of continuity, like for example, Obama's use of executive orders. President Trump will use his own to cancel out Obama's. Trump will use them, just like Obama did in order to maintain that continuity that Obama is so worried about lol.
